Some American football folks thanks to our resident expert Scott Silver
Saturday Night 9.30pm
Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints
I like the Cardinals to upset the number 1 seed Saints.
The Cardinals are still upset at losing the Superbowl last year,
and are 5/2 to knock off the well-rested and very rusty Saints.
Saturday Night / Sunday Morning 1.15am
Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts
This is the best game of the weekend.
What the Ravens did last week to the all-mighty Patriots
was shocking. They ran the ball down their throats, not
even pretending to pass the ball. Would love to pick them
again at 2-1 to knock off the Colts, but hard to bet
against Peyton Manning this year, especially at home.
Colts at 5/13
Sunday Afternoon 6.00pm
Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings
Hired Gun Brett Favre looks to extend his legendary
status for the Vikings. Cowboys have looked very hard
to beat the last few weeks and the Vikes have been
up and down. I like the home (dome) field advantage
in this one. Vikings 5/7 to advance.
Sunday Evening 9.30pm
New York Jets at San Diego Chargers
The Jets have the right formula to win playoff games,
number 1 at running the ball, and number 1 at
stopping the run. That formula won't be enough -
the Chargers have too much firepower.
Chargers at 2/7 to advance.
Of note: last week 3 of the 4 games were blowouts.
It should change this week, im counting on 3 of the 4
to be close games. In that event, im taking a quad of
Arizona +7, Baltimore +6, New York Jets +8
all three of these teams to keep it close, and adding
the Vikings -2 (Quad 16/1)
Worth a Squid . . .
Take any 3 home teams to win by less than a touchdown
(winning margin 1-6) at approx 90/1
