Time running out to get in the Christmas money

First Goal : Emanuel Adebayor looks the first goal value bet at the weekend at 4/1 – back him with Sean
Grahams and that price could double or treble if the Gunners’ hitman can grab more than oneTime is not on our side as we try and net our readers a few quid in the run-up to Christmas.
We gave out a 10/1 double last week with our XXX securing two draws, so something back for the punters who did the doubles and treble as advised.
A lot of punters were let down by Aston Villa who were 4/7 at home to Fulham while Liverpool (1/4) and Chelsea (8/11) also let a good few bets down.
Punters GUIDE Quad
Right, on to our weekend quad and we start with our weekend banker. We’ve opted for READING (11/10) to take all points at Oakwell as they try and catch Birmingham and Wolves at the top. Barnsley are leaking goals and hopefully Reading can get the win.
SOUTHAMPTON (5/4) are a risky choice but they have shown a wee bit in recent games and hopefully they can see off inconsistent Sheffield Wednesday at St Mary’s.
CARDIFF (11/10) are another team who are difficult to beat at home. They face a real battle against in-form Preston but we think it’s three points for the Welsh outfit.
Making the PG Quad up this week are NEWCASTLE (1/1) who take on Stoke at St James’. Under Joe Kinnear this Newcastle team are hard to beat; they are actually defending well and we’re taking them to claim all points on Saturday.
Punters GUIDE FIVEHIT
On to our odds-on FIVEHIT and we start with LIVERPOOL (8/11) to get back to winning ways at Blackburn.
BIRMINGHAM (4/7) are scoring for fun and should take care of Watford at St Andrew’s.
LEICESTER (4/6) continue to play well and maximum points look on the cards at home to Southend.
HARTLEPOOL (4/6) are another team who can’t stop scoring and hopefully another win is on the way at home to Yeovil.
ST JOHNSTONE – Celtic aside – are the form team in Scotland and the First Division leaders can go further clear with a win over Queen of the South.
Punters GUIDE XXX
On to the draws and we start with the big game in the Championship with QPR entertaining Wolves.
The big League One game between TRANMERE and LEEDS looks another likely draw.
We end the draw treble in the SPL and have taken Dundee Utd to take a point at INVERNESS.
All the above draws priced at 12/5. The rest is up to you, as it always is, and don’t forget those doubles.

The Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday is the big race of the weekend – and what a race it looks to be.
We have the two-mile Champion Chaser of 2008, Master Minded, taking on the new kid on the block, Tidal Bay.
Both were very impressive winners at the Cheltenham Festival and they look a cut above the rest of this field.
Luckless Sam Thomas has been jocked off for the big race ride on the Paul Nicholls favourite in favour of Tony McCoy. On paper Master Minded (4/6) should win, but how much has Tidal Bay (7/2) improved? We’ll know on Saturday. The each-way value has to be Jack The Giant at 20/1 – 4/1 a place.
There are a total of 13 entries for the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown on Sunday, including former Cheltenham Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition who we think will take all the beating and gets a current 3/1 quote from Sean Graham bookmakers.
The former Gold Cup winner has not put a foot wrong this season after his long injury and will take all the beating on Sunday at the expense of the Paul Nicholls-trained raider Noland.

Horse NAP today....

ROLL ALONG 15/8 - 2.35 Sandown

Has had 1 run this season when he won a class 2 race over 3m at Ascot back in Novemeber when he had the likes of Air Force One and Madison Du Berlais behind him. Stamina has always been his strong point and he finished very strongly at Ascot last time. The stiffer 3m at Sandown will be what he wants and he should win today.

KEANE QUIT BY TEXT MESSAGE - REPORTS
Posted 05/12/08 07:32

EmailPrintSave

Roy Keane is understood to have brought an end to his reign as Sunderland manager by text message.

The Irishman is reported to have informed Black Cats chairman Niall Quinn of his resignation by text on Thursday morning. According to The Guardian, this was not an unusual form of communication for Keane to use - he is said to have become 'so introspective and elusive' during the final days of his tenure that text messaging was 'often the only way Quinn could contact him.'

The Daily Telegraph reports that 'Quinn made several attempts to contact Keane to try to change his mind, but his calls and texts went unanswered. However, Quinn's fears were confirmed when Keane's London-based solicitor, Michael Kennedy, faxed a statement signed by his client to the club on Thursday at lunchtime'.

The newspaper claims that 'Although Sunderland's board hoped Keane would continue they were concerned that he had lost the support of a dressing room harbouring constantly rotated players who seemed intimidated and alienated by their maverick and temperamental manager. A watershed occurred 10 weeks ago when Sunderland scraped past Northampton Town in the Carling Cup and individuals were shocked at the ferocity with which Keane hurled personal obscenities at them.'

Describing Keane as 'ruling by fear' at the Stadium of Light, The Sun also reports that, on one occasion at half-time during a game this season, 'Keane asked one of his assistants to set up the tactics board while he disappeared into the toilet. He returned to launch a kung-fu kick at the object, sending it flying into the wall of the dressing room.'

The Irishman has yet to speak in public since news of his departure from Sunderland broke.

Hope you were on my boxing bets that I tipped in the last topic in November. Here's what I posted...

3 Boxing bets for this weekend.....

Martin Rogan to win - 7/2

Amir Khan to knock Oisin Fagan out in the 2nd round - 6/1

Manny Pacquiao to beat Oscar De La Hoya on points - 10/3

Prices with Paddy Power

2 out of 3, not bad!

Now, to all those fools who argued with me about Martin Rogan having no chance against Audley Harrison, I have a big massive humble pie that I baked just this morning. Tuck in lads!! Looks like oul Liam was right AGAIN!!! That must be 3 weeks in a row now!

I predicted the script of the Rogan fight to a tee. Harrison would jab and run away whereas Rogan would be coming forward at every opportunity and making Harrison uncomfortable. Harrison will NEVER get a shot at a world title after that. The guy is a joke, he's a coward and he should do the right thing and walk away. Martin Rogan's boxing was very unpretty but, like I said, his heart and courage won him the fight.
I must say, I pasi the £14.95 to watch all the fights on Saturday but the best fight of the lot was the on on ITV1 between Carl Froch and Jean Pascal. One of the best fights I have seen in a long time. Winner froch now has a list of people that he could fight next including Jermain Taylor, Mikkel Kessler and none other than Joe Calzaghe!! Now that is a fight I'd like to see!!

Anyway, I'm away to count how much money I won at the weekend!!

Gerard, I hope you filled your boots with that tasty 7/2 about Rogie. Like we both agreed, possibly the bet of the weekend!!

i watched all the fights on sat night sun morning.Never again will i watch rof=gan or harrison.a disgrace to boxing to see 2 slobs in the ring.a fat mess of a taxi driver and a guy who got paid millions after the olympics and does not really care any more.
never again will i watch either of them.would have seen a better fight outside the beehive on sat night

Liam froch will never fight the great calzaghe. Not a big enough name at this stage of joes career.Joe is looking for mega bucks fights anD possibly will only fight 1 or 2 more times if we are lucky.Froch has beaten nobody AND IS NOT A BOX OFFICE DRAW FOR THE BIG BOYS IN WORLD BOXING

Is £7m not mega bucks? Cuz that's what Froch's team are preparing to offer Calzaghe.
I agree with you though, I will be very surprised if Calzaghe were to fight Froch but I wouldn't totally rule it out.I think Calzaghe will fight once more in Wales and his opponent will be either Jones Jr, Hopkins, Dawson or Kessler.

If the inevitable happens and this Hatton v Pacquiao fight is set up then that will be one to look forward to, although I reckon Pacquiao would be nailed on to beat Hatton.

Made a few quid out of the boxing at the weekend and did a £20 treble on yesterdays football. I took Norwich at 13/8, Villa at 17/10 and West Brom at 13/8. Close but no cigar!!

POLICE WARNING:

2 MEN WANTED FOR IMPERSONATION OF BOXERS.THEY GO BY THE NAMES OF ROGAN AND HARRISON.NORMALLY WE WOULD SAY DO NOT APPROACH THESE MEN AS THEY COULD BE DANGEROUS BUT IN THIS CASE THESE 2 MEN COULD NOT PUNCH THEIR WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG SO WHEN YOU APPROACH THEM ITS OK TO LAUGH IN THEIR FACE.

IF SEEN REPORT TO THE FRAUD SQUAD FOR FALSE IMPERSONATION

DON KING

Liam, carl Froch has 4 things going against him which is why this fight will never happen

1.he is not a world recognised fighter
2.he has a small time promoter in mick hennessy so money will be a problem
3.Calzaghe is contracted to setanta, froch is with ITV
4.Calzaghe is looking for massive names in boxing now, people he can make "mega fights with"

M.S

This is why this fight will never happen

No matter what the opinions are folks Rogan was a good 4/1 winner/tip I think that's all what matters!

Picked up my boxing winnings in Ladbrokes today and took one of their football dockets across to Grahams and noticed that Grahams prices are much better for this weeks games. Although I posted a treble I fancied above I picked out a different bet with only one Champions League team in it as I never have any luck with Champions League bets.
I did the following £40 treble...

SPURS 17/10 (were 8/5 with Lad's)
ROMA 8/11 (were 4/7 with Lad's)
PRESTON 4/5 (were 4/6 with Lad's)

I also had £5 on Jermain Jenas to score first tonight at 12/1, knowing that if he scores 2 or 3 (unlikely I know) the 12/1 will be doubled or trebled.

Liam

u r not looking much liam for jenas to score 2 or 3 lol

bet of the weekend has to be berbatov to score first goal against one of man u's feeder clubs(spurs)

Mackers

Mackers

We may be one of Man U's feeder clubs but £18.75m for Carrick and £32m for Berbatov!!?? We'd feed you's all day at them prices!! :-)

Big Martin Rogan could get a shot at a European title by facing Matt Skelton, assuming Skelton wins his next fight in Italy in a few weeks time.
I thought Rogie was a great value bet against Harrison but I feel that Skelton would have too much for 'The Entertainer' although I hope I'm wrong. Skelton will throw punches and come forward, something Audrey...sorry Audley Harrison didn't do!!

Liam,we gave you 18.5 for Carrick and also bought teddy sherringham off spurs.

If my memory serves me right both have went onto greatness by winning the priemiership and the holy grial(champions league)while spurs linger at the foot of the table.

its a common fact if you want to win major honours you only use spurs for what they are,a stepping stone to much bigger things.
