Sparks splutter through

CONFUSION reigned at the start of the week in the PG Cup after the Bru Crew and the Bright Sparks both failed to find a single winner last weekend.
After consulting with our sponsors Sean Grahams the Bright Sparks got the verdict in the photo-finish.
The Sparks had three draws and one loser while the Giro lads had two draws and two losers so the Bru Crew go out on the ‘loser’ rule.
Eric Savage was delighted with the outcome and has promised he and his betting buddy Diddler will bounce back with four winners this weekend.
“The final beckons, we didn’t pick a winner and we are in the semi-final – our name’s on it this year,” Eric beamed.
Toffees fan Eric won over a grand on Sunday after backing Arsenal 4/1, Everton 11/4, Man Utd 5/6 and Portsmouth 11/10.
He has predicted heartache for the Glenhill punters at the weekend.
Usually teams who appear on this page are brimming with confidence but when Charlie Murray came on the phone on Tuesday he was a little bit sombre to say the least and was not confident of his team’s weekend selection – are the nerves have got to the big man?
He has, however, kept faith with the team that got him thus far, so Eamon ‘the Scouser’ Kyles, Seamy ‘Worst Golfer in Ireland’ Dobbin and Kevin ‘Mackerel’ Toland all remain for the vital weekend showdown.
Remember, this team ousted the champions DVLNI, delivered a winning quad in the qualifiers and are the PG Cup favourites – can the Bright Sparks pull the shock off? The weekend will surely tell the story
BRIGHT SPARKS: Histon 1/2, Linfield 2/5, Arsenal 4/11, Man Utd 1/5
GLENHILL PUNTERS: Stockport (draw) 11/5, MK Dons 11/10, Portsmouth 13/8, Shewsbury 5/6.
The very much in-form BMG Printers will take on Chucker’s Wipeouts in the other semi-final.
The Wipeouts just about beat the Dairy Farm lads in the last round and are confident of a final berth.
Ronan O’Kane leads the team and keeps faith with the same team from the last round, so brother Conor, Darren Murphy and Liam McLaughlin will face the Printers this weekend.
The Printers have eased through all their challenges and are going to be very difficult to beat.
Led by Kevin ‘the Charmer’ McCabe, the inky punters have developed a betting formula and they are sticking to it.
Kevin again will rely on Conor ‘Longshot’ Vernon, Kieran ‘Steepledowns’ Sloan, Dermy ‘Star Wars’ Ó Tuama and this experienced betting team is made up by statsman Bo Wonderful.
Kevin told the PG that a win is more important than a winning quad this coming weekend and their aim is to keep the PG Cup on home soil this year.
The PG Cup Final will take place next week – winners will collect £200 worth of Sean Graham betting vouchers with runners-up grabbing £100 worth.
BMG PRINTERS: MK Dons 11/10, Cardiff 11/10, Leicester 4/6, Luton 5/6.
CHUCKER’S WIPEOUTS: Liverpool 8/11, Portsmouth 13/8, Cardiff (draw) 11/5, Oldham 4/6.

It wasn't Man Utd's reserves, it was players who are fringe players for their first team that does not make them reserves!

Foster, Rafael Da Silva, Neville, Evans, O'Shea (Evra 66), Nani, Gibson, Possebon (Scholes 66), Anderson, Giggs (Manucho 71), Tevez.

Bar Possebon the other 10 in the starting 11 are part of the Man Utd first team so stop talking crap!
