Rogie delivers at 4/1

Thank-God I punted with my heart and not my head when tipping Rogie up in the PG at the weekend - in fact had a nice wee 24-1 double with Martin Rogan with Adebayor to score the first for Arsenal - so a profitable weekend for the 'Guide.
On to more pressing things and the soccer week ahead - Spurs 8/5 and Crystal Palace 4/5 look a nice Monday double.
Onwards to the Champions League and our midweek quad is INTER MILAN 7/4, VILLAREAL 15/8, B MUNICH 15/8, FORENTINA 6/4 - that quad should sort out Christmas this year.

Picked up my boxing winnings in Ladbrokes today and took one of their football dockets across to Grahams and noticed that Grahams prices are much better for this weeks games. Although I posted a treble I fancied above I picked out a different bet with only one Champions League team in it as I never have any luck with Champions League bets.
I did the following £40 treble...

SPURS 17/10 (were 8/5 with Lad's)
ROMA 8/11 (were 4/7 with Lad's)
PRESTON 4/5 (were 4/6 with Lad's)

I also had £5 on Jermain Jenas to score first tonight at 12/1, knowing that if he scores 2 or 3 (unlikely I know) the 12/1 will be doubled or trebled.

We may be one of Man U's feeder clubs but £18.75m for Carrick and £32m for Berbatov!!?? We'd feed you's all day at them prices!! :-)

Big Martin Rogan could get a shot at a European title by facing Matt Skelton, assuming Skelton wins his next fight in Italy in a few weeks time.
I thought Rogie was a great value bet against Harrison but I feel that Skelton would have too much for 'The Entertainer' although I hope I'm wrong. Skelton will throw punches and come forward, something Audrey...sorry Audley Harrison didn't do!!

You talk some gack son. Robbe Keane has been a reall success at Liverpool hasn't he!!! We signed John Scales from Liverpool not vice versa.
Tell me, how did Paul Stewart and Paul Walsh shit on Spurs??
Stewart was great for us but, like Robbie Keane, he failed at Liverpool. We also signed Walsh from Liverpool not vice versa!!

Your facts are very poor mate, just like some of your tips on here!!

Liam, are you argueing that spurs are not a selling club?
everyone in football know they are thats why they are in the position they are in and why they have never played in the champions league.

They are a feeder club to bigger clubs.

FACT-get over it mate, why do you think all their best players leave?

Really like the look of that 15/8 about VILLAREAL. Might do them in an outside double with ANORTHOSIS FAMAGUSTA who are 11/2 away to Panathanikos, the winner of that game will be guarenteed qualification into the knock-out stages.

Interesting words from Robert Thornton regarding KATCHIT.......

Robert Thornton is not concerned that current champion hurdler Katchit appears to have been written off after two consecutive defeats already this season.

Alan King's five-year-old can be backed at 10-1 to regain his crown after defeats at Kempton and Wincanton this season but Thornton says the same thing happened last term.

Writing in the Daily Mail, the jockey said: "It was a similar situation this time last year.

"The pundits were saying then that Katchit couldn't win a Champion. We may have been beaten by Osana in the Boylesports International but put that emphatically right in March.

"After two defeats this season, punters seem to be giving my lad the cold shoulder.

"But I'd not read too much into these runs and I am heading into Saturday's clash with Binocular and Crack Away Jack - both shorter in the Champion Hurdle ante-post betting - in a positive mood.

"I'm convinced that if you were going to have a punt on the Festival championship now, I'd rather take 10-1 each-way about Katchit than 7-2 about Binocular to win.

"Katchit has never been flashy and he'll relish the return to Cheltenham, where his record is five wins and a second from six runs.

"Saturday's clash with Binocular will be fascinating. He was impressive on his Haydock comeback but was entitled to be, running against modest opposition.

"He's the one who I'm keeping a good eye on because, if anything is going to step up to the mark, it is probably him.

"Win or lose on Saturday, my faith in Katchit being able to deliver in March remains intact.

"I'm just hoping he produces a performance in the Boylesports to show everyone why."

Calzaghe rules out fighting froch as mentioned on this blog.
Read and weep liam

Calzaghe, though, said: "Carl who? Who's that guy? Nah."

He added that Froch is "long way off deserving a fight with me" and that he has to "join the list".

Froch is not a big box office name for American TV broadcasters HBO, which is willing to come to the UK for a Calzaghe career finale in Cardiff.

So, if Calzaghe did continue, it would probably be against a big-name American.

Calzaghe, however, has said he "doesn't like rematches" so that would seemingly rule out a super-fight reunion with Jones and Hopkins.

Liam, have you had a sneak preview of my PG this week? I must be that predictable mate! Katchit BIG CHANCE - rule out old Harchibald at your pearl foks

Anonymous said...

Gerard,

It looks a tight race according to the betting because Binnocular is the 6/4 fav but there are 3 horses after him ver closely priced. Crack Away Jack 7/2, Katchit 9/2 and Chomba Womba 5/1. Harchibald is now 14/1.
Theses are all obviously ante-post prices which are sure to change between now and Saturday but Katchit, whose Cheltenham for is excellent (5 wins and 1 second out of 6 runs), is the one for me as long as the ground doesn't get any softer.

Some good races today at Huntingdon and Taunton. My Way De Solzen makes his seasonal debut in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon and has been backed from 13/2 into 5's to make it a winning one. Peter Bowen's Snoopy Loopy also goes in the same race but the trip looks far to short for him on this flat track and I'm going for NATAL to land this one.

My NAP for today though goes in the 2.20 at Taunton. Jonjo O'Neills KIA KAHA was very impressive in his last run when winning very easily on his chase debut. He made one serious mistake that day but recovered well and Tony McCoy hardly had to move a muscle on him that day.

Big Hitting Yank John Daly has joined the European Golf Tour this year after losing his playing privilages in the U.S.

His first event of the new season and look what happens:

John Daly smashed a spectator's camera into a tree during a frustrating first-round 78 at the Australian Open.

Following a wayward stroke on the ninth the two-time major winner was preparing to take his next shot from some trees when Brad Clegg started taking photos.

Daly reportedly grabbed the camera and threw it at a tree, shouting: "You want it back, I'll buy you a new one."

Wouldn't touch that 9/2, infact that is a mad bet. The bookies are looking to suck people in with that.
Liverpool and Chelsea looked certs but Man U and Arsenal have tough away games. Arsenal and Man Utd should win but Boro are hard to break down at home and always play well against teams from the top 4. Man Utd face a tricky trip to White Hart Lane my head says a Man Utd win but my heart says that we may be capable of taking a point from the game.

This is just my opinion but regarding that bet, Liverpool and Chelsea will win but it will be Arsenal and/or Man Utd that let the bet down.

Utd are playing one of the worst teams in the premiership.
With their world class players thay should easily see off a very poor spurs side who i am sure all you bloggers will agree have no players that would get in the utd team.

Arsenal on the other hand have a tough looking game. They are not firing on all cylinders ayt the moment but if van persie and adaybayor are playing this quad looks good

The thing about that quad is that you would never have touched them four altogether because the quad only pays under 9/4 (Ladbrokes prices) but because the bookies are offering bigger odds of 9/2 you are tempted and that's the bookies plan, to tempt you into a fairly risky bet.
I would like to see what odds they would give for a special treble of Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd because that Arsenal match is too dodgy for me.

My horse NAP KIA KAHA has already been backed into fav. It was 7/4 this morning and it is now 5/4 fav with Boylesports. The original fav was 11/10 this morning but is available at 6/4 now. I just got 6/4 for KIA KAHA in Grahams but I'm sure that will be cut quite soon.
