It’s hard to keep the PG down at the minute and for the past three months we been threatening with the draw treble.
In fact on nine occasions out of our last 12 attempts we have given out two winners, that amounts to a healthy profit if you followed our perm bet with odds of around 11/1 every time we got the XX up.
Things got a whole lot better on St Stephen’s Day as the XXX finally came in and left one local punter very happy after he cashed in on the 32/1 treble.
Andytown punter Paul Wilson picked up close to £1,350 after he did 3 x £25 doubles and a £25 treble on our bet – and owes the Guide a pint or four.
On to the weekend action where the FA Cup third round dominates. We start with our weekend quad.
PG QUAD
CELTIC (11/8) are four points behind Old Firm rivals Rangers at the moment and both teams square up to each other on Sunday. It’s quite simply a game that Tony Mowbray’s team need to win to narrow the gap and we are banking on the Hoops doing just that.
Staying in the SPL and we have another cracking derby, this time it’s in Edinburgh where Hibs host Hearts.
Some tasty bets for the year ahead...from Kev The Red

The Jam Tarts are on a bit of a roll at the minute and a win at Easter Road could see HEARTS (3/1) move closer to their Edinburgh rivals in the league table.
SHEFFIELD UTD (6/5) are hard to beat at Bramall Lane and can make the draw for the FA Cup fourth round with a win over QPR.
ROCHDALE (1/1) are cantering away at the top of League Two and can move further clear with a win over Rotherham.
PG FIVEHIT
On to the fivehit and we start with our weekend knocker bet. We have gone for MAN CITY (4/6) who have been in great form over the festive period and can win at Middlesboro in the cup.
PORTSMOUTH (4/6) are hard to beat at home and can take care of Championship strugglers Coventry.
WOLVES (8/11) could well change their full team for the trip to Tranmere but we expect them to progress to the next round.
NORWICH (8/13) are flying at the minute and can climb to second place with a win at leaky Wycombe.
LIVERPOOL (1/2) need a trophy this season to save their under-pressure boss and they can take a step towards that with a win at Reading.
FA CUP XXX
Finally, on to the draw treble and we start at Ashton Gate where CARDIFF are the visitors to take on draw specialists BRISTOL CITY and this one has draw written all over it.
WEST BROM are flying high in the Championship and travel to Huddersfield where we expect the League One team to thwart the Baggies.
BIRMINGHAM are the form team in the Premiership and take on the in-form team in the Championship NOTTINGHAM FOREST at the City Ground and this one has the look of replay all over it.
GOAL RUSH
This Goal Rush bet is catching on with punters and the rules are simple – pick a game where you think both teams are capable of scoring.
We have come up with five for the weekend which gets a 12/1 pricing with Sean Grahams so mark down these five games where we think all teams will score: Leyton Orient v Yeovil, Brentford v Doncaster, Millwall v Derby, Macclesfield v Morecambe and we finish with the Torquay v Brighton game.
HORSE RACING
We finish with the big races at the weekend and start at Cheltenham on Friday and PUNCHESTOWN looks the bet in the Dipper Novices Chase while Chapoturgeon looks a solid punt in theVictorchandler.com Handicap Chase. We have the Tolworth on Saturday and the Alan King-trained Salden Licht gets the nod in this Grade One event while HARRY TRICKER is the one to beat in the finale at Sandown.
Good luck and let’s hope we start 2010 off with a few quid in the pocket.

As the big freeze shows no sign of loosening its grip on racing, William Hill have opened a market on when the next British action on turf will take place.
Plumpton's meeting on Sunday was the last National Hunt fixture in Britain and while positive noises are coming from Ffos Las about being able to stage Saturday's high-class card, Hills make that a 5-2 chance to survive.
Saturday's fixtures at Sedgefield and Wincanton have already been abandoned, along with Friday's meetings at Bangor and Fontwell.
Hereford on Sunday is already off, with Monday's meeting at Ayr also in serious doubt.
Hills believe no racing will take place on turf until Saturday week, January 16, which is 4-5 favourite.
"This big freeze looks set to be here for a while," said William Hill spokesman David Hood.
"We think the prospect of any jump racing is bleak before Kempton's williamhill.com Lanzarote meeting on January 16 and it could be even longer."
Date Of Next UK jump racing fixture, William Hill bet: 4-5 Saturday January 16 and beyond, 5-2 Saturday January 9, 7-1 Friday January 15, 8-1 Thursday 14 January, 11-1 Wednesday January 13, 12-1 Tuesday January 12, 20-1 Monday January 11.
