Toffee Pudding on Sunday?

Is it just my predictions or is it that the bookmakers are running riot this season?
It seems it’s easier to win the lotto than it is to get a winning soccer quad up. Let’s hope our luck’s about to change.
We start this week with our odds-on Five-Hit which was hit with two losers last week. We start off with our banker of the weekend and we have opted for EVERTON (4/5) who take on Middlesboro at Goodison Park.
David Moyes has his men playing good stuff as they chase a hat-trick of wins and although Middlesboro will be hard to break down we fully expect the Toffees to grab all three points.
DERBY (10/11) took a hiding at Reading last week but we expect Paul Jewell’s men to bounce back at home to leaky Sheffield Wednesday who have conceded the most goals in the Championship on the road.
MILLWALL (4/5) are proving a lot of people wrong this year and they lie third in the First Division at the minute just one point off the top and should take all points at home to Stockport. ROCHDALE (4/5) have won their last four games on the bounce and that has seen them climb the table – expect that to be five in a row this weekend when they entertain Macclesfield.
Making the Five-Hit up this week are BRECHIN (10/11) who put their first defeat of the season behind them last week by getting back to winning ways and three more points beckon at home to East Fife.
Punters GUIDE XXX
On to our draws and we stay in the Premiership for all three.
We start at Ewood Park where SUNDERLAND take on Paul Ince’s BLACKBURN.
Both teams are now close to the foot of the table with Roy Keane’s side losing their last three Premiership game and needing something from the game – expect a cautious game with a draw being the stand-out bet.
SPURS are playing at the top of their game under Harry Redknapp and are now on the brink of winning their third consecutive Premiership game at Craven Cottage but we expect FULHAM to take a point in this one.
WEST HAM are a team who are a downward spiral having lost five of their last six games and we think they will pick up only a point at home to PORTSMOUTH on Saturday.
All draws priced at 12/5
Punters GUIDE QUAD
Finally on to our weekend quad and we start with Championship leaders WOLVES (1/1) who will take some stopping and another three points look in the bag at St Mary’s where they take on Southampton.
IPSWICH (5/4) at last won on the road last week and we think they can double up away at Doncaster.
ST JOHNSTONE (1/1) just keep winning and that should continue away at Clyde, and making this weekend’s PG Quad up are in-form DUNDEE UTD (13/8) who should take all points away at leaky Kilmarnock.
The rest is up to you, as it always is!

These horses are going OK - I make that 4 from 6 winners. not bad!
harder today though at Cheltenham..
THREE SELECTIONS

OVER SIXTY (NAP) looks a good bet in the SHARP NOVICES' HURDLE (GRADE 2) at 1.50 and trades at 6/1.
Have to go for ANDYTOWN in the CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS H'CAP HURDLE 3.35 and he trades at 5/1.
Hopefully we can start with a winner and the Gordon Elliott trained HOOPY in the IRISH TIMES AMATEUR RIDERS H'CAP and he is around 6/1.

doubles and a each-way treble?

Rookie,Haye has a glass chin and especially now he is fighting at heavyweight he will get hit harder, stay away from betting on this fight

Cheltenham Double.....

GOLAN WAY 10/1 - 1.50

PUNTAL 7/1 - 3.00

Prices from Boylesports

I've had £20 on David Haye to win in the 4th Round @ 10/1.

Other betting in the Haye v Barrett fight.....

Under 6.5 rounds - 4/7

Over 6.5 rounds - 5/4

That 4/7 looks an absolute re-mortgage job.

You obviously no nothing about David Haye. He has a record of 21 - 1 (20 KO's) yet he has a "glass chin". Wise up.
He can take a punch and he must be one of the hrdest hitting punchers in the game. This fight will not get past the 4th round!!!

PG, i see in your selections you have Rochdale priced at 4/5? Where kind people are giving that price? I'm seeing a general 4/7 or 8/13 at best with various companies

Rochdale are 8/13 with Ladbrokes.

My five for the weekend.....

LIVERPOOL 8/13
BIRMINGHAM 8/13
WOLVES 10/11

Liam,i know nothing about boxing??
How do you know? I only boxed for 16 years and My Da was a commonwealth games boxer so for you to come off with a stupid commoent like that is a joke man.

As i said Haye has a glass chin like Amir Khan and is vulnerable although i still think he will win against this bum.If i remember right he was floored by Mormeck,Thompson and by Mock so his chin is not good.

Adriannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Adriannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Read my comment correctly, Isaid you know nothing about David Haye!!!
Joe Clazaghe was floored by Hopkins and Jones Jr so I suppose he has a chin like glass too?? Even though he's 46 - 0!!??
Just because a fighter gets floored once in a while doen't mean he has a chin like glass. I do agree about Amir Khan though, a guy who cannot take a punch.
Haye will walk this fight on Saturday just like he did against Enzo Maccarenelli last time, even though this is a step up the weights.

Liam

Anonymous said...

Liam i know he has been floored by 3 out of 21 opponents which is not good. The difference about the legend Joe Calzaghe is that he was floored by world class boxers, while Haye has been floored by 3 bums(just like amir khan) so when he fights real top class heavyweights like the Klitchko brothers he will be in trouble with his glass chin.I do believe Haye will win a world title one day because he has a punchers chance(and the heavyweight division is not that good at the minute) and so will Amir Khan win the title one day but no doubt about it they both cannot take a punch(a bit like frank bruno, you know what i mean harry or Liam)

Adriannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Anonymous said...

Adriannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Hang on a second. Joe Calzaghe beat world clas fighters that were past their best. I'm a big fan of Joe's but I'm a realist and I would have to say that Hopkins or Jones Jr at their peak would have beaten Joe Calzaghe. In fact, I think if Calzaghe fought Hopkins again Hopkins would beat him.
Boxer's can only beat what's in front of them though and Haye will fight, and beat, at least one of the Russian brothers but he HAS to fight Barrett to do that so it's not his fault he has to fight him.

LEICESTER now look a good bet away to Swindon tomorrow at 6/5. Swindon have just sacked their manager.

a little bit of information for you Liam.

Joe Calzaghe fought world class fighters who were past their best. That is probably the worst statement i have heard on this excellent blog and from reading back you are fond of making some daft statements.

Calzaghe beat Mikkel Kessler who was the wba and wbc title holder at the time and was unbeaten before Joe destroyed him and what about the much publicised next biggest thing in boxing ,american Jeff Lacy who was also unbeaten.Calzaghe gave him a boxing lesson also. The guy is a living legend who has fought 24 times for the world title.(so much for fighting fighters past their best!!!What a stupid person you are Liam. Joe beat Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins who, yes were past their best but its payday time for Calzaghe, hes been there done it and now owns the t shirt.

One of the reasons I opted for Golan Way was because of it's previous races it went off in front and seemed to kick on again when others challenged. I did think Ruby's horse was going to go on but the biggest threat came from Alan King's horse. 9 times out of 10 you would fancy your horse to pick the front runner up, especially at Cheltenham, but Golan Way looks a tough horse to pass. Supreme Novices Hurdle Candidate????

Adriaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Calzaghe was brilliant against Kessler and Lacy but again, they would be no match for Hopkins or Jones Jr when they were at their peak.
I think Joe should take the challenge of Chad Dawson and prove to people that he doesn't only beat big shot has been's. Dawson is 26 and looks a real good fighter and I think he may be more than a match for Joe compared to some of his other opponents. But, I think Joe will fight one more time and it could be a re-match with either Hopkins or Jones Jr at the Millenium stadium.

Don't like to spend a bet before it's won but if Puntal wins it will net me £495. I have decided that if he does win I'm gonna have £500 on that 4/7 for David Haye to win in UNDER 6.5 rounds!! That would net me £785!!

Also see my old favourite BRIDGEWATER BOYS is running this evening @ Kempton. Posted it up here a couple of weeks back & it obliged.

Linfield
Coleraine
Newry

Euro:
Inter
Real Madrid
Villarreal
Lyon

Rest:
Everton
Bristol City
Darlington

Thats my selections but may change between now & by time I go to back them.

johnnyboy said...

Altho i respect Adriaaaaans opinion
i gotta agree with Liam. When Jones lost to Tarver, Calzaghe went to the press and tv 2 call out jones. why didnt he call out the winner? a fair point tho bout Kessler and Lacy altho it was the press who bigged up Lacy. can any1 even name who Lacy has fought b4 or since Calzaghe and as 4 Kessler,iv saw better diggers in castle street.Every champ has a few easy money fights and deservedly so, but Calzaghe took it 2 the extreme. he admitted a week ago that he hadnt heard of a lot of his opponents! doesnt sound too bonafide that for supposed world title fights. Iv seen Joe on the tv saying that Jones is completely shot yet months later he expects people to part with their cash to watch him fight him? A good fighter,at best, but certainly no alltime great.but again, its all about opinions

My five timer above touched and I'm due to pick up £584. First football bet up this season!!

I had £20 on Haye at 10/1 to stop Barrett in the 4th which he very nearly did. So much for Haye's glass chin!!!

If only I had that £584 on Saturday I would have put the lot on that 4/7 on offer for Haye to win in less than 6.5 rounds.

Liam

Anonymous said...

Liam, did you watch the fight.Haye was put down (again) by a journeyman fighter in the 5th.
He is a good digger but like frank bruno has a porcelan chin.Thats 4 different fighters that have floored him but i give him one thing,he is exciting to watch but wait till one of the Klitsko's land a right hand on the money

William Bonney (2.50 Leicester) round 13/2

Going for 2 x 2-2 draws tonight in the live games

I think you've done too much boxing son and it's affected your head!!

Haye had Barrett down 5 times!!! Barrett had Haye down once, plus he hit him when he was on the deck but Haye, as all good fighters will do, got back up and finished the job in style. Glass chin my hairy hole!! That punch Barrett hit him with would have floored many heavyweight boxers!!

Good to see Bernard Dunne back on the winning road again. He dominated his Uragyan opponent and won clearly on points as the ref controversially stopped the fight early due to a clash of heads.

Looking forward to Dubliner Oisin Fagan's fight against Amir Khan in early December.

I was about to have £30 on that special quad but after looking up the tables I'm staying away. Empoli are 4/5 and they play Grosseto who are 10/3. Grosseto are top of the league via goal difference although Empoli are joint on points with them. It turns out that Grosseto have better form at home and Empoli are better away from home looking at the table. I think this game has a draw written all over it and that's probably why it is priced at a skinny 2/1.
I fancy the other 3 teams, especially Kaiserslautern who look a certainty.

THE ROOKIE, i take your point but 90% of calzaghes "world title" fights were WBO which, in my opinion,if hes half as good as he says he is, he wouldnt entertain and would go straight to the more respected titles. the fact that people are having this debate suggests opinion is still divided. As for the unbeaten record, does that mean Terry Marsh is a better fighter at lightweight than Roberto Duran cos Marsh never lost a fight while Duran did. Or that if the big glipe Valuev hadnt lost his 47th fight, he would now have surpassed Marcianos record there4 making him the best heavyweight of all time?
