Flat season ends with puzzling November Handicap

Before we preview the weekend racing, a good luck story has landed on my desk.
A well-known Falls Road punter turned £50 into over a grand on Halloween night after his religious 3 x £10 doubles and £20 treble at last came in.
He backed THE GREY ONE to win the opener at Wolverhampton on Friday night and he did just that, by a head at odds of 9/2.
Our punter now was sitting with 2 x £55 wins and a £110 double.
He took an early price of 3/1 on ROYAL AMNESTY in the 8.20 and he duly obliged at 5/2 and our punter had already banked a few quid with nearly £400 riding on his last selection.
He played it safe, if there is such a term in betting, and took the jolly DAYLUMNEY who won as he pleased at 5/6. Our punter picked up £1,200.84. Merry Christmas, pal.
On to the weekend action and the British Flat season officially ends with big November Handicap meeting at Doncaster.
The Luca Cumani-trained Presvis leads the betting at 9/2. He hasn’t been seen since sluicing up in the John Smith's Heritage Handicap at Newbury in September. This top weight will take some pegging back but that price is not great in such a competitive field.
The usually unlucky YOUNG MICK at last got his head in front at Leicester and if things go his way on Saturday then the 14/1 looks a good each-way bet in Saturday’s race. Another each-way tip has to be GROUP CAPTAIN (20/1) who has attracted a few quid this week and if he can get back to his 3-year form will be there or thereabouts on Saturday.
On to the National Hunt action and Champion Hurdle winner KATCHIT re-appears quickly in the totescoop6 Elite Hurdle (Grade 2 Limited Handicap) at Wincanton on Saturday. But I like the look of CHOMBA WOMBA from the in-form Nicky Henderson stable.

10/1 WINNER YESTERDAY FOLKS WITH JACARANDA WHICH WON AT 15/2
WE HAVE WENT FOR BOBS PRIDE IN THE LISTED EVENT AT DUNDALK TONIGHT - DANGER SOFT MORNING

Football Selections

The PG Selections last week took an absolute pasting, but hopefully we will improve this week.
The quest to get our Christmas money begins this weekend and hopefully we can start with a winning bet.
Punters GUIDE FIVE-HIT
We start with our odds-on FIVEHIT and first team down are PETERHEAD (8/13) who absolutely thumped previously unbeaten Brechin 5-1 last week and should follow up against Queens Park on Saturday.
ST JOHNSTONE (8/13) are climbing the table at a rate of knots at the moment and another three points beckon at the weekend when they host Ross County.
It’s the FA Cup first round this weekend and we suggest you get on in-form SHREWSBURY (4/6) to win at non-league Blyth Spartans while MILLWALL (4/5) look a healthy bet away to Chester.
Making the FIVE-HIT up are HEREFORD (10/11) who should progress to the second round with a win over Dagenham.
Punters GUIDE QUAD
On to our PG weekend quad and we start with our weekend nap. We have opted for WIGAN (1/1) to outmuscle Stoke who got a great result last weekend, but we think Bruce’s men will outbattle the Potters in this one.
QPR (1/1) can bounce back to winning ways at home to Cardiff who are missing their strike-force through injury.
NORWICH (6/5) are hard to beat at Carrow Road and we are banking on them taking three points at home to Preston.
It’s back to the FA Cup to make our quad up and we have sided with BRISTOL ROVERS (11/8) who should go in the hat for the second round draw with a win at struggling Bournemouth.
Punters GUIDE XXX
It’s hard to be a Arsenal supporter at the minute – I should know.
The stuttering Gunners drew 4-4 at home to Spurs after leaking those two late goals, and by the time they turned up for the Stoke game on Saturday their heads were still down. Are they out of the title race? Quite simply, if Stoke and Hull both beat you then you don’t deserve to win the title.
Arsenal take on the Champions in the early Saturday live game on Sky and it’s a match they have to win; but can they?
Nope, I can’t see it. Man Utd are playing at the top of their game and the leaky Arsenal defence will need to be on its mettle – but we do suggest the draw at 11/5.
Staying in the Premiership for the XXX and we are taking BOLTON to take a point at HULL in what will be a bruising encounter.
EVERTON are back in the groove and we think a point beckons for the Toffees at Upton Park where they take on a struggling West Ham side.
All draws priced at 11/5

Had £10 on Darren Bent to score the first goal last night at 4/1 with Ladbrokes. Of course I was delighted when he obliged but I remembered that Graham's would have trebled the odds if I did the bet with them!!! Gutted!!

I'm away on for the weekend lads. Hope it's a profitable one all round. Haven't had a chance to have a proper look at the footy yet for tomorrow so won't be posting my selections.

On the racing front I'm going to have a sizeable punt on RAVELLO BAY in the 12.40 Wincanton tomorrow.

Up against odds-on shot from the Nicholls yard but the Henderson horse gets plenty of weight all round. Will be taking the opening price

Happy Punting
