Hammer blow for Wigan?

It’s  squeaky bum time in the Premiership after last weekend’s results and the the title race has become a two-horse race.
Arsenal lost 3-2 at Wigan on Sunday to end their slender hopes while Spurs did champions Man Utd a massive favour by beating table-topping Chelsea.
The Blues remain the 8/13 favourites and they host Stoke this weekend while Man Utd are now as short as 5/4. The Reds entertain in-form Spurs at the weekend and for anybody who believes in miracles, well... Arsenal are 250/1.
Wigan's win – their first ever over Arsenal in the Premier League – takes them seven points clear of third-bottom Hull and eight ahead of Burnley and they're now 25/1 with Sean  Graham to go down.
The Latics were backed at a remarkable 799/1 on Betfair in-running against Arsenal, with one customer securing £3 at those massive odds as they trailed 2-0 while some other optimistic punters snapped them up at all rates down from 769/1 so miracles do happen; but the 250/1 for the Gunners looks too much of a miracle. At this stage Burnley and Hull look doomed to the Championship.
PG QUAD
We start with the weekend quad and first team down are WEST HAM (1/1) who know a  win at home against Wigan will all but guarantee them Premiership football next season.
HEARTS (11/10) can pile on the misery for Motherwell at Tynecastle.
BRENTFORD (1/1) are finishing the season with a flourish and look too strong for Yeovil.
WOLVES (13/10) can all but guarantee their Premiership status with a win at home over Blackburn and we think Mick McCarthy’s team can grab all points.
PG FIVEHIT
On to the Fivehit and first down are BOLTON (4/7) who should bank all points at home to Portsmouth while LEEDS (1/2) can get all points at home to MK Dons.
MILLWALL (1/2) should bag all points against Leyton Orient while SOUTHAMPTON (1/2) can keep their slim play-off hopes alive with a win over Carlisle.
We won’t get rich backing the fivehit this week but a ROSS COUNTY (1/1) win over Partick could boost it.
PG XXX
We finish with the draw treble and the first ‘X’ down this week is the visit of ABERDEEN to STJOHNSTONE.
PRESTON are hard to beat at home and the best LEICESTER can hope for is a point.
Safe HARTLEPOOL can grab a point in the non-contest at WALSALL.
All draws priced at 11/5 by Sean Graham and remember to perm the bet with doubles and a treble

Betting Story:-
Bookmakers hit by big Saturday tip
I GOT a phone call on Saturday afternoon at around 4.30 from a mate saying, ‘Did you back that tip?’
‘What tip?’ I replied. ‘Whozthecat,’ was his reply. ‘First I heard, mate,’  I told him, and he went on to boast that everyone and their granny was on it up and down the road.
‘I got on at 25/1 this morning,’ he delightedly told me. I cut him short and thanked him for the information that he didn’t give me and hung up – who needs mates like that?
He was right, though, everyone and their granny was on it with one South Belfast bookmaker refusing to take any more bets.
It was backed right down to 10/1 and got home by half a length to the delight of many a local punter. Me? I was content with old PG favourite  ANDYTOWN winning at 9/2 at Ayr.
Weekend Racing:-
We have the big one,  the Rabobank Champion Hurdle, on Friday (5.30pm) and what a race we have to look forward to with a high-class field going to post for this Grade One hurdle
Trainer Philip Fenton has confirmed that Dunguib is to run in the race where he is set to lock horns with the likes of  Quevega,  Solwhit and Punjabi. So is the novice up to the task?
We think so, and the biggest danger could come from Champion Hurdle flop Solwhit who won this last year. The early week Sean Graham market has Dunguib, Quevega and Solwhit all leading the market at 10/3 – what a tight race we have on Friday evening.
Sean Graham Bet: Dunguib 10/3, Quevega 10/3, Solwhit 10/3, Hurricane Fly 9/2, Punjabi 5, Voler La Vedette 10, Medermit 14, Ronaldo des Mottes 20, Thousand Stars 28, Muirhead 33, Won In The Dark 33,
On the last day at Punchestown  we have the four-year-olds’ Champion Hurdle and we are taking Alvian to bounce back in this race after his bad run in the Triumph.
On to Saturday’s racing and we have the end-of-season Bet365 Gold Cup marathon at the mixed Sandown card and the money has come for the Paul Nicholls-trained Just Amazing who is now as low as 8/1.
You may remember that last year we tipped up a 25/1  winner in this race when Monkerhostin did the business and he is not without a chance on Saturday – the top weight gets a 20/1 quote to repeat the feat, which may well be worth a tickle.
ERIC’S CHARM fell at the first in the National but if he jumps round on Saturday then he has an outstanding chance and is priced at 16/1 for this gruelling three mile five furlong trip.
Friday Punchestown Selections
3.40 White Head
4.15 Hume River
4.55 Copper Bleu
5.30 Dunquib
6.05 Luska Lad
6.40 Mr Cracker
7.10 Another Cliche
7.45 Spill The Beans

British gamblers will make history today when bookies use decimal odds at a racecourse for the first time.

Until now bookmakers have always priced up horses using fractions but a campaign aimed at getting more young people interested in the sport claims their methods are "outmoded and unfamiliar".

Racing for Change says that using decimals will give customers better value by improving competition and offering a wider range of prices.

"We need to attract a younger audience and to do that we need to overhaul betting language that is alien to anybody who went to school since the UK went decimal in 1971," said Chris McFadden, chairman of Racing for Change.

Punters at Ascot racecourse today will be able to use the new betting system, which could spell the end for much-loved racing phrases like Burlington Bertie (100-30) and Double Carpet (33-1).

"There are some dinosaurs in racing who won't want this, but we'll give the gambling public whatever they want," bookmaker Paddy Power told Sky News Online.

Under the new system - widely used already in Australia - odds like 9-4 would be priced up as 2.25.

just listened to 'experts' talking bout a defensive masterclass by Inter last night and while they're right to a point, the time-wasting that went on from the FIRST half i thought was disgraceful. Rolling round the ground after every tackle (more often than not after their own tackle), constantly changing the throw-in taker and shit. Very frustrating for the armchair fan. I understand they didnt have to score and had 10 men after 25mins, but jesus they ripped the arse clean out of it. The experts also said it was a classic italian job but there wasnt an italian in the team!

They did the exact same as barca and their great team of divers would have done.

Love him or hate him Jose is a legend.

Jose is good at getting results.

Since he left chelsea they have not won the league, with man u winning it 3 in a row.ok,they lead the league now,but utd sold ronaldo and are still on their tails.

Jose is a great mana manager and will be there with the greats when he retires. He won the champions league with a poor porto team and is in the final again with a poor inter team.Great management.

dont get me wrong, mourinhio is some pup no question and timewasting is part of the game, they all do it. but to start the timewasting when they had 11 players on the pitch and barely 15mins gone is ripping the hole clean out of it. Sure didnt he give out about teams doing it to chelsea in the premier league, saying that they parked the bus in front of goal? He cant have it both ways
