Can it get any better for the PG?
I always maintain that betting is 75 percent luck and 25 percent skill - if it’s for you, it’s for you. We have 15 winning soccer bets on these pages since the 19th September and if you have followed us then Christmas would be paid for with a bit left over.
There was another winning 22/1 five hit last week and the XXX came in thanks to the abandonment of the Plymouth v Barnsley game with the Tykes leading 4-1. That’s where luck comes into it folks, so all the punters who backed the perm or backed it straight were picking up on Monday morning.
Colchester scored with the last kick off the game to secure the five hit so yet again we got lucky in that one - the 7-timer had combined odds of 124/1.
One blogger known only as Santa Claus posted the following on our PG Blog on Monday: “Christmas is paid for PG! Had £30 on the five hot, had £20 on the XXX, had £5 on the roll up, just picked up £2,452.34”
My sources in local bookmakers have reported heavy losses on our winning selections running into thousands with PG readers cashing in at the weekend - music to my ears.
PG WINNERS
This great run of the PG started way back on the week-ending 19th September when we delivered a 14/1 five-hit to get us off and running.
The following week we gave out a 16/1 winning quad and a fortnight later we delivered our biggest quad yet returning at a whopping 92/1. There was also a 10/1 five-hit given out that week and punters who roll both bets up were rewarded with a massive 1019/1 accumulator.
For the next couple of weeks we gave out a few 11/1 doubles in our draw perm trebles but on the weekending 7th November we returned big time to the winners enclosure with a 12/1 five hit and 14/1 quad and again punters who rolled both bets up were rewarded with a massive 182/1 accumulator.
The following week we gave out another 11/1 winner on the XXX and then a fortnight ago we returned with a 18/1 winning quad that hit local bookies where it hurt. Then last week, as you know, was another triumph for the Guide with another 22/1 five-hit and 11/1 draw treble - can it get any better?
PG QUAD
We start this weekends action and with the PG Quad and we have opted for a PORTSMOUTH (1/1) win in the early kick-off at Fratton Park against a Burnley team who concede and lose on their travels.
Staying with the early kick-offs and NOTTINGHAM FOREST (6/5) are hard to beat at the City Ground and can grab another three points against Nigel Pearson’s Leicester.
Hopefully we’ll be two up going into the 3pm kick-offs and we have opted for a ST JOHNSTONE (11/10) win against Kilmarnock, who have lost four on the bounce.
Making the quad up are WYCOMBE (1/1) who at last have found their feet, winning their last two matches and can beat basement boys Stockport.
PG FIVE HIT
On to the weekend five hit we start with LIVERPOOL (4/5) who need to take all points at Blackburn.
ASTON VILLA (1/2) are hard to beat at their own gaff and three points beckons against Hull.
Crystal Palace (5/6) are another team in a bit of form and can continue that run at home to Doncaster.
MK DONS (8/13) got back to winning ways last weekend and look a solid choice at home to Yeovil.
Making the five hit up are BOURNEMOUTH (4/5) who look too strong for out-of-sorts Shrewsbury.
PG XXX
We finish with our draw treble so mark ‘X’s on the following weekend games: Take SWANSEA to grab a draw at Peterboro while Bolton can take a point home with them from their visit to WOLVES. We have to wait to Sunday to make the XXX up and have taken SPURS to take a point at Goodison Park where they take on EVERTON.
RACING
What a performance at Newbury on Saturday by Denman who, under a welter burden of top weight, toyed with the opposition winning at 11/4 - yet another winner for the PG, we were on at fives .
Part owner and professional gambler Harry Findlay stated he would not be backing his horse - we all know that’s because he was looking a better price for his horse.
Wise man our Harry when it comes to punting and I bet he was over over the moon when Denman won on Saturday at well-backed 11/4.
TINGLE CREEK CHASE: 2.25, Saturday.
On to this weekend’s action and we have the Tingle Creek Chase as the big one at the weekend and although the likely favourite Master Minded is out we still have one hell of a race on our hands.
BIG ZEB is the big Irish challenger and he will go off the favourite on Saturday after hacking up on his seaonal debut at Naas.
He won at an absolute canter that day not coming off the bridle under Barry Gearghty.
He looked to have the Grade One Kerrygold Champion Chase in the bag but a blunder at the last allowed Master Minded to gain a head victory so it’s BIG ZEB for us.
The home challenge will be lead by the David Pipe-trained Well Chief and the Paul Nicholls trained Twist Magic but we are putting Forpaddydeplasterer up for the forecast spot after his second behind Herecomesthetruth at Down Royal, although the expected soft going could be against him but the Arkle winner is a battler and should run a big race on Saturday.
Other horses to keep an eye on at the weekend include CRACK AWAY JACK who looked a classy chaser on his debut and has been enterd in the betinternet.com Henry VIII Novices' Chase on Saturda.
The Noel Meade-trained Aran Concerto has a big chance in the John Durkan Chase on Sunday and can upset the likes of Joncol and Barke.

Legend Retires!!
Veteran jockey Mick Kinane has announced his retirement, ending a 34-year career in the saddle.
The 50-year-old bows out on a high after a truly memorable 2009 which saw him partner wonder horse Sea The Stars to six Group One wins, including an unprecedented 2000 Guineas-Derby-Arc treble.
In a statement, Kinane said: "I have decided this is the right time to retire from race-riding.
"At 50 I still feel fit and sharp enough to do any horse justice but, after the season I have just had in partnership with Sea The Stars, I have the privilege of being able to end my career as a jockey on an incredible high and that's what I want to do.
"I leave with a huge sense of gratitude to all the great horses I have ridden, all the great trainers whose genius developed those champions and everybody else in racing, from the stable lads to the owners, who have made me deeply thankful for my involvement in the game.
"Teamwork is the key to success in racing and I have been blessed with some of the best alliances a jockey could have.
"The most important support of all throughout my career has, naturally, come from my wife, Catherine, along with my family and friends.
"Both Catherine and our two precious daughters, Sinead and Aisling, know how much they mean to me."
Kinane hangs up his riding boots with nearly 1,500 winners to his credit and a string of victories across the world, with the list of great horses he rode almost endless.
He broke new ground when winning the Belmont Stakes in America for Dermot Weld on Go And Go in 1990, as well as the Melbourne Cup on the same trainer's Vintage Crop in 1993.
Montjeu was a magnificent winner of the Arc in 1999 and arguably even better in the following year's King George, while Galileo and Commander In Chief also won the Derby.
Yeats also got in on the Kinane act when he won the Gold Cup in 2007.
But the best was definitely to come in the autumn of his career as Kinane enjoyed that glorious last hurrah with John Oxx's brilliant colt Sea The Stars.
As well as the Guineas and Derby, the duo also teamed up in the Eclipse, the International Stakes and the Irish Champion before topping off an invincible run with that supreme display in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
Kinane pointed to success on the Henry Cecil-trained Commander In Chief in 1993 as a significant moment.
He got the leg-up at Epsom on the Khalid Abdullah-owned colt with Pat Eddery on the owner's supposed first string Tenby. The pair beat Jim Bolger's Blue Judge by three and a half lengths, with the odds-on Tenby only 10th of the 16 runners.
Kinane said: "Your first Epsom Derby success is very special so winning on Commander In Chief was a huge milestone.
"My Derby-Oaks double on Galileo and Imagine was also very special.
"Dermot Weld is a great man for breaking new ground so the Belmont and Melbourne Cup were both great achievements.
"I will just be a small-time farmer from next week. I have no great plans so am going to spend some time with my wife and family and take stock."

GRAND SLAM HERO is the Wednesday NAG - 210 Leicester
QPR have suspended manager Jim Magilton following an incident after Monday's defeat by Watford at Vicarage Road.
Magilton is reported to have been involved in an angry bust-up with Akos Buzsaky following the 3-1 defeat at the home of the Hornets.
Buzsaky would not be drawn on claims that he had been headbutted by the Rs boss and was not keen to discuss the matter.
