REVENGE MISSION FOR ROGAN

It’s ROGAN v SEXTON Part Deux tonight and Sean Graham Bookmakers have put The Entertainer in as their 1/3 favourite with Sexton priced as the 9/4 underdog – 28/1 the draw.
Sean Graham price Aisling Sports award nominee Martin Rogan at 9/2 to win on points, a bet that has been talked up all week, but I just can’t see this mammoth grudge match going the distance.
The first fight in May between the pair was shrouded in controversy, when Rogan’s severely swollen left eye forced referee Dave Parris, in consultation with the ringside doctor, to call an end to the contest in the eighth round.
A bitter press conference in May has certainly whetted my appetite for this fight and I’m banking on my old schoolmate to end the fight before that. I’m going for big Rogie to end the contest in round 7 or 8 ,which gets a 12/1 pricing from Sean Grahams.

Blue Sunday for Man U
Another 11/1 double in the XXX at the weekend, so back on track with the draws while punters who backed our selection, Robin Van Persie, to open the scoring were quids-in with Sean Grahams as they doubled the 9/2 odds. So another 9/1 stonker for the PG.
FRIDAY NIGHT QUAD
The FA Cup first round takes place this weekend and we are trying out a Friday night quad in the hope of making your soccer betting outlay free for the weekend.
In the FA Cup we are think SOUTHAMPTON (11/8) can continue their great run with a win over Bristol Rovers who are struggling at the moment, losing four on the bounce.
HUDDERSFIELD (4/7) are back to top form and can progress to the next round with a win over Dagenham while NOTTS COUNTY (8/11) can also make the hat for the second round with a win over Bradford.
Making the Friday night PG Quad up are DERBY (5/4) who take on Coventry in the live Sky game .
It’s true to say that both teams are badly out of form and the only reason we are taking a chance on Nigel Clough’s side is because they are the home team.
The quad pays around 9/1 with Grahams.
PG QUAD
On to our weekend and we start with the big match of the weekend at Stamford Bridge where the Premiership’s top two square up to each other.
Chelsea go into the game in great form and are two points clear of champions Man Utd at the top. They know a win could put a wee bit of distance between them – a win for Utd and they would go top on Sunday night, so a lot to play for.
It will be no great surprise to all you Man Utd supporters that the PG is putting up CHELSEA (5/4) for the win on Sunday with home advantage being the main reason, but the Blues are at last playing some good stuff.
If Didier Drogba puts more effort into opening the Utd defence up instead of looking for silly free-kicks then he could be the key player come Sunday.
Let’s rewind 24 hours to get our first three selections and we have opted for a win for NOTTINGHAM FOREST (1/1) who take on Bristol City at the City Ground.
WATFORD (11/8) lost heavily at West Brom last week and we are banking on them bouncing back with a win over Preston at Vicarage Road.
In the FA Cup first round CHESTERFIELD (13/10) look a great bet to continue their good home form against a Bournemouth side who look out of sorts. Hopefully by Sunday we will be waiting on Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea team for the quad.
PG XXX
We hit the bar the last couple of weeks but are still picking up on the double which is far better than picking nothing up at all.
We start the draw treble in the Championship and West Brom travel to in-form Leicester. We think the Baggies can come away with a point in this one.
On to Sunday and EVERTON look good for a point at Upton Park against draw specialists WEST HAM.
FULHAM are a very hard team to beat – ask any Liverpool supporter, and we think Roy Hodgson’s team can take away a point from WIGAN.
PG CUP FIVEHIT
On to the Fivehit and we start at Villa Park where Martin O’Neill’s ASTON VILLA (8/13) look too strong for leaky Bolton.
Staying in the Premiership and SPURS (4/7) should bounce back from that North London mauling with a win over Sunderland while ARSENAL (1/2) should bank another three points away at Wolves.
BLACKPOOL (8/11) are in great form and can beat out of form Scunthorpe at Bloomfield Road, and making the Fivehit up are ABERDEEN (4/5) who can get back to winning ways at home to St Johnstone
That’s our advice for this week folks, and as it always is, the rest is up to you.
SEAN GRAHAM £25 BET COMPETITION
Fancy a free £25 football bet at the weekend? Then enter our competition courtesy of PG sponsor Sean Grahams.
Answer this very simple question: Who scored the first goal for Arsenal in their Champions League match last night?
Answers by email to puntersguide@ireland click.com or call 90 60 88 40 before lunchtime today (Thursday). Winners will be notified Friday lunchtime.
AN ACTION-packed weekend of racing ahead with the Breeders Cup, the November Handicap and a great two-day meeting on our own doorstep with the Northern Ireland Festival of Racing at Down Royal, and that’s were we start our review.
JNwine Chase
Notre Pere, winner of the Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup in April, is among 14 five-day confirmations for the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday.
Jim Dreaper's improving eight-year-old landed the Coral Welsh National last December and looks the one they all have to beat on Saturday.
Of the dangers, the Dessie Hughes-trained SIEGEMASTER looks a big player judged on his easy Wexford win, while English hope ROLL ALONG, who is now in the hands of Nigel Twiston-Davies, could be an interesting each-way bet – a cracking race in prospect.
NOVEMBER HANDICAP
We have the last day of the flat over at Doncaster on Saturday with the ultra-competitive November Handicap taking centre stage. This race as usual will take a lot of working out, but we have come up with a shortlist of two horses we think could go well.
We start with the Jim Goldie-trained GORDONSVILLE (16/1), who’s looking a big player judged on his gutsy win at Musselburgh last time out. He always runs a honest race and should be in the frame come Saturday.
BREEDERS CUP
Get the beers in, the bets done and get ready for the Breeders Cup 2009 – it’s going to be a long two nights on Friday and Saturday.
These races are like a lottery to the PG and I bet many more punters out there are in the same boat as us, unless you follow the American racing.
It gets under way on Friday night at the marvellous Santa Anita course in sunny California and we start our review with the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf. Henry Cecil and John Gosden could battle this out with MIDDAY and DAR RE MI (both 4/1) and we like the Gosden horse with Frankie in the plate.
Cocoa Beach (11/2) looks a great bet in the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic, while Henry Cecil’s FATHER TIME (7/2) will be a big player in the Breeders Cup Marathon.
Aidan O’Brien has a livewire in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf with Lillie Langtry (3/1) and hopefully we will have a few winners on the board going into Saturday night
We start off with the opening race on Saturday evening and Michael Stoute could well have a 1-2 on his hands here with CONDUIT (5/4) and SPANISH MOON.
DFunnybone (11/2) could shock Lookin’ at Lucky in the Breeders Cup Juvenile while POUNCED (7/2) can deliver in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf.
Aidan O’Brien has an ace up his sleeve in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile with Mastercraftsman (5/2) all the rage this week.
CANNONBALL (4/1) will take some stopping in the Breeders Cup Sprint while RIP VAN WINKLE (6/4) can bring the big one, the Breeders Cup Classic, back to Ireland. We’ll be watching with great interest, hope you will be too.

PG CUP
The battle of the Officer Brothers finished with an oh-so-easy win for Junior Officer Paul, whose DVLNI punters went through on the bridle after his brother Kevin’s Stormont team went out with a whimper – failing to find a single winner.
So who will be joining the DVLNI and Bombardier in the PG Cup Semi-finals?
This week we have the BOUCHER BANKERS taking on our very own BMG PRINTERS who have installed a new gaffer for this one after the inky punters narrow win in the last round.
Demoted is Kieran ‘Virtual’ Sloan as captain, but he just about holds his place in the team. Bo ‘Vanilla Slice’ Morrison has been busy this week talking up his team’s chances, saying that a new team captain was needed and he’s up for the job and is the one to lead the punters into the semi-finals.
Bo told the Guide that Kevin ‘Microwave’ McCabe is a loose cannon and just about keeps his place while Conor ‘Upside Down Head’ Vernon is guaranteed his place after his winning selection got them through to this stage.
Bo has promised free vanilla slices to all readers of the PG if their dreamy quad comes up at the weekend – he’s that confident that he has his local baker on stand-by for Sunday night.
Boucher Bankers have re-invented themselves and changed a few faces as they bid to move away from the old Bank On Us name that failed to make the grade here last year.
Led by the fearless JP Crossan, this is a crack betting squad and the Bankers’ captain told the PG this week that he’s told his team, “Pick a loser and you’re out.”
“I red-carded Tommy ‘Think Tank’ Smyth after his selection beat us out of a winning quad last time out – no place in this team for losers.
“So it’s just myself and Kevin ‘Odds-On’ Gallagher this week and we fancy our chances against the Printers who couldn’t pick their nose in the last round.
“Come Monday, I expect the Boucher Bankers to be in that draw.”
BMG PRINTERS: Chelsea 5/4, West Ham (draw) 9/4, Portsmouth 12/5, Nottingham Forest 1/1.
BOUCHER BANKERS: Blackburn 11/10, Everton 7/4, Arsenal 1/2, Blackpool 8/11.
Next week is international week so the PG Cup is back a week later with the BCC Punters taking on the Busmen.
CITYBUS DUO v BCC LEGAL EAGLES (21st November) selections in by Tuesday 19th

Jesus theres some bullshit going around bout that Rogan fight.Half of whats being talked about is slanderous keek. Theres more conspirousy theories going around than the kennedy assassination. He may have had a bad neck/arm but i tell you what, he was hurt in that last round, legs werent looking too good plus that looking at the corner is never a good sign.

Fair play on the footie yet again gerard. great picking. Was waiting on chelsea myself and had a saver on the draw at the last minute. Talk about squeaky bum time. Had to switch it over after an hour and just check skysports news every 2 minutes. No way was that game the straightforward win for chelsea that i thought it would be. Utd were better for the 60mins that i seen. Im just relieved i touched in the end. ha!

Haye is the most exciting heavyweight in the last 10 years JohnnyBoy

jim

Anonymous said...

With respect jim, and bearing in mind that i wanted Haye to win, how can you say that? Hes had 3 fights at heavyweight! Bonin the pole-a journeyman but good first fight, Barrett- who was knocked out by a novice from cork BEFORE he fought haye, and Valeuv. OK fair dues,he beat valeuv but he'd been beaten by a near 50yr old holyfield, chageuv and twice by Ruiz only to be handed it by the judges 3 times and he was no great shakes as im sure you'll admit if you seen him fight. That fight on saturday, for me, was far from exciting unless im in the minority, so in what way is he the most 'exciting' heavyweight in 10yrs?

Anonymous said...

Haye has become world champion after 3 heavyweight fights

the guy is awsome.

Can anyone name the last fighter to become world heavyweight champ so soon.

correct...no one.

this guy is box office heaven and will be the u.k's biggest ever boxing star

Talk in the papers today...rogan's next fight will be against danny williams in belfast on paddys day...as rogie pointed out sexton vs williams wouldnt sell out a sweetie shop...

although rogie needs £10grand for a back op....

rocco

Sam Sexton. You obviously havent a clue mate. No-one else done it in 3? how about michael spinks doing it in 1 or roy jones jnr doing it in 1. glipe.

Anonymous said...

spinx had already had 7 earlier fights at heavyweight and jones jnr was not a recognised belt

sammy

sexton williams would not sell out in a sweetie shop?

doubt many people will turn out to see rogie in atown leisure centre in his next fight.
he is a disgrace to boxing
