What a weekend for Liverpool fans as yet again Rafa Benitez pulled it out of the fire when his under-fire team beat champions Man Utd 2-0 at Anfield.
His odds for being at Liverpool come the end of the season are now 9/4 from 5/4, and Reds fans are hoping this win kick-starts their already fragile season – they are 9/1 fourth favourites for the title with Sean Grahams.
Chelsea are now the new 13/8 favourites after their mauling of Blackburn that saw them rise to the summit – but can they stay there?
Results suggest that this league is going to be the most open yet and any from five can win it.
Arsenal yet again failed to finish off the opposition and let West Ham gain an unlikely point. It was two more crucial points dropped by Wenger’s men and they are 9/2 for the title.
Another team to let a two-goal lead slip were Man City and they are now as big as 11/1 to win the Premiership crown.
SACK RACE
Money has come in this week for Hull’s manager Phil Brown to be next manager to get the boot and he is now the 7/4 favourite.
He overtakes Pompey manager Paul Hart who is now a general 9/4 after his side’s indifferent start; but word from Hull is that one more slip-up – next match is against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday – could see Brown sacked.
RACING NEWS
BREATHTAKING is the only word to describe St Nicholas Abbey’s performance in last Saturday's Racing Post Trophy.
He looks an absolute superstar and has been cut for the Guineas and the Derby next year and if he trains on as a three-year old then we could have another Sea The Stars on our hands.
The Breeders Cup is next weekend and there has been money around this week for the John Gosden-trained Dar Ri Me for the Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf. She is now as low as 4/1 from sixes while the Michael Stoute-trained Zacinto has attracted a few quid in the Breeders Cup Mile.
X-FACTOR
Unbelieveable! Those bloody Grimes twins are still there – 15/8 with Grahams to be eliminated this Sunday.
One-time favourite Danyl Johnson has been pushed out to 11/2 after finishing in the bottom two last weekend and he’s been getting a lot of bad press this week, so the 14/1 you can get on him to go on Sunday is mighty, mighty tempting.
Our dark horse, Joe McElderry, is the new 3/1 favourite after the weekend, but for us Lucie Jones stole the show at the weekend and is back in the running.
SEAN GRAHAM £25 BET COMPETITION
A PUNTER gave the Halloween shivers to Sean Grahams when he correctly picked a lovely winning quad – with a Grahams free bet!

Paul McCloskey’s European title dream is still alive and well despite Souleymane M’baye’s withdrawl from their scheduled European Light Welterweight title fight at the Meadowbank Sports Arena in Magherafelt next Friday night (November 6th).
McCloskey had been set to challenge the Frenchman for his European crown but a bicep injury has forced M’baye to withdraw from the bout and vacate the European title. However promoter Barry Hearn has moved quickly to secure a replacement in the shape of Spanish Champion, Daniel “Cobra” Rasilla who will now contest the vacant title with McCloskey in Magherafelt.
BOMBARDIER HOTSHOTS are the first team in the semi-final after they scraped through last weekend against the Glenhill Punters.
The pilot light went out on Charlie Murray’s Glenhill side who failed to find a winner at the weekend as Joe Campbell’s hotshots grabbed a single 8-15 winner, leaving Charlie devastated.
This week we have the two Officer brothers taking each other on as the DVLNI Punters take on the boys from Stormont.
The Stormont 4 have it all to do against 2006 finalists and 2007 winners, the talented DVLNI Punters, who are so hard to beat.
The DVLNI are led by team captain Damian ‘The Hoff’ Armstrong, who has vowed to win back the betting crown his team once held.
He includes seasoned gamblers Paul ‘Hookbacker’ Officer and Kevin ‘Waterbottle’ McGuckin for the weekend battle with Stormont.
Paul Officer expects a stroll in the park against his older brother Kevin, describing him as “past it” when it comes to punting and adds he’s looking forward to a free game of golf next month.
Stormont 4 captain Paddy ‘The Traveller’ Thompson drafts in another well-known punter to the team for this quarter-final needle match. Joe ‘Bellevue Zoo’ Thompson, the best punter in North Belfast, is the new member of this elite betting squad and is set to inject a bit of experience and savvy into the team.
Kevin ‘Irish League’ Officer is undaunted by his brother’s fighting talk and says his team will wipe the floor with the DVLNI: “I have taught my wee brother Paul everything he knows about punting, but not everything I know.
“The side bet is that the loser pays for a round of golf for two at the K Club.
“Let’s just say I will be teeing off in Kildare next month for free and giving him another lesson on the golf course.”
Terry ‘The Tiger’ Donnelly from Iveagh just about keeps his place in the team but is on a yellow card for his failure to pick a winner in the last round, so the pressure is on him to deliver as we enter the business end of the competition.
STORMONT 4 QUAD: Preston 10/11, Stoke 5/6, Sunderland 4/5, QPR 5/6.
DVLNI QUAD: Arsenal 8/11, Sunderland 4/5, Man City 4/5, Newcastle 11/8.

RACING:
The jump season has well and truly started and I will heading to Down Royal next week for the big Northern Ireland festival of racing with Gold Cup hero Kauto Star.
On to this weekend and we have the Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday.
Paul Nicholls has entered the progressive WHAT A FRIEND for Saturday’s race and he looks the one they all have to beat with Sean Grahams giving him a 5/2 early week quote.
He won three out of four races last term, his only blemish was his sixth behind Cooldine in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham. Loyal Man Utd fans will be punting on What A Friend as Alex Ferguson owns the gelding.
The danger has to be OLLIE MAGERN who finished second last year and won it in 2007 – the veteran gets a 4/1 quote.
Sean Graham bet: What A Friend 5/2, Deep Purple 4, Ollie Magern 4, Tamarinbleu 5, Gwanako 6, Darkness 10, Church Island 12, Snoopy Loopy 12, Just Amazing 14, Mr Robert 33, Canada Street 40.
Staying at Wetherby and Pettifour looks a solid choice in the Grade 2 John Smith's West Yorkshire Hurdle and can get the better of the David Pipe-trained Lough Derg who is hard to pass.
Over at Ascot we have some tasty jump action with the listed United House Gold Cup Handicap Chase the big race on Saturday and if the Noel Meade-trained CASEY JONES makes the journey from Ireland then he’s worth a punt in the race.
David Pipe has SEVEN IS MY NUMBER in the race and he’s in great heart, chasing his fourth win on the trot and a solid choice.
SOCCER SELECTIONS
We were four minutes away from our XXX on Sunday until Ivan Kasnic popped up to score a late winner for Bolton to thwart our 35/1 quad, but nevertheless a 10/1 double for punters who did the perm.
PG CUP FIVEHIT
We start with our odds-on Fivehit. We hit the bar last week with four winners – Bristol Rovers letting us down at home to Yeovil.
We start off our Fivehit on Friday night this week with the big live Friday night Championship match where in-form sides QPR and Leicester clash.
Jim Magilton’s Rangers team have been scoring goals for fun recently, hitting 12 in the last three wins and they go into the game in seventh position knowing a win can push them into joint second.
They take on a decent Leicester side who stole the three points at Reading on Monday and have won their last two, but home advantage will count in this one and hopefully QPR (5/6) can kick-start our weekend.
ARSENAL (8/11) have thrown away certain victory in their past two games and know they can ill-afford to do it this Saturday when they take on North London rivals Spurs at the Emirates.
The Gunners look to be too strong for Spurs who lost 0-1 at home to Stoke last week and we are taking Wenger’s men in this one.
BRISTOL CITY (4/5) are going along nicely in sixth in the Championship and are unbeaten in five – they can stretch that run with a win over Sheffield Wednesday.
STOKE (5/6) are having a great season and the win at Spurs last week has shown how far this club have come this season. We’re taking them to grab another win on Saturday against Wolves.
Making this week’s Fivehit up are MK Dons (4/5) who are a very difficult team to beat at home and can keep tabs on Charlton and Leeds at the top with a win over Bristol Rovers.
PG CUP QUAD
We stay in League One for all our weekend PG Quad selections and start with our knocker of the weekend, CHARLTON (6/5) who are second in the league behind Leeds at the moment but we think Joe Parkinson’s team can grab three points at Carlisle.
SOUTHAMPTON (5/4) are the form team at the moment and can make it four wins on the trot – they have won their last three by 3-1 (a repeat on Saturday is priced at 11/1).
MILLWALL (6/5) at the weekend were the first team to down Leeds this year and will hope to build on that result. Although they face in-form Colchester, we still fancy three points for the Lions.
Making the weekend quad up are Paul Lambert’s NORWICH (6/5) who have been in good form of late. We’re banking on the Canaries to be singing away at Stockport.
PG XXX
On to the XXX and we start at Goodison Park where Aston Villa are the visitors to take on a Everton side who have wilted in recent games and will be more than happy to get a point out of this one.
SWANSEA are the draw specialists in the Championship and we think they can take a point at SCUNTHORPE.
BLACKPOOL have been hard to beat this while back and Ian Holloway’s side are good for a point away at Doncaster.
That’s our advice for this week folks, and, as it always is, the rest is up to you.
i actually fancy both quads in the pg cup this week.
Some very good picking there.
Will be a close fought race
