FURYK LOOKS OPEN BET AT 40/1

Tiger is the hot 2/1 favourite for this weekends Open

The Open Championship returns to the beautiful Ailsa Course in Turnberry, Scotland for the first time since 1994 and that year the honours went to Nick Price who was victorious.
The worlds best golfers all gather to do battle for the famous Claret Jug on what is considered as one of the finest ever Open courses there is.
Tiger Woods is priced at a terrible 2/1 but rightly so. as he is by far the greatest player on the planet and should win if he turns up with this "A-game" today but at 2/1 its not worth a bet unless you are betting with serious amounts of money.
Tiger has been at Turnberry all week practicing so although having never actually played the course in tournament play he will still know it well enough to launch his bid for a 15th major crown as he continues chasing the record 18 major titles set by Jack Nicklaus.
The top Irishman and winner of the last two opens Padraig Harrington defends his crown playing the worst golf of his career.
His record the last 3-4 months is terrible and he has not finished in the top 5 all season and has slipped from 3rd in the world ranking to 12th and at 25/1 we suggest that you leave the likable irishman off your betting slip this year.
Young golfing sensation Rory McIlroy is also priced at 25/1 and the young Holywood golfer is a fearless competitor and Turnberry will hold no fears for him which could be his downfall.
There is so much trouble at many holes that the driver will have to be used sparingly so this years open will probably come a year or two, too early for young McIlroy.
We have two each way naps this week and we start with American Jim Furyk who is overpriced at 40/1.
Furyk is not one of the big hitters on tour but is certainly one of the straightest off the tee and this will be a major factor as to why he should do well this week along with his brilliant short game.
Any golfer not hitting the fairway this week will be severy punished so Furyks accuracy off the tee should see him go well.
He also has an amazing nine top 10's in 14 PGA events this season and has won over $2.3 million. You will get around 10/1 for a top 6 finish for Furyk which folks is outstanding value.
Our second nap who we think will go well this week is the very much in-form Lee Westwood. Although having never won a major championship Westwood has went close a few times and is priced at 25/1.
The last couple of months have seen Westwood back to his best and if he gets his putter working he will be hard to beat. Westwood is paired the first two days with Woods and has a good record when playing with Tiger so the enormous galleries following Woods should not be a distraction for him.
Andersonstown News sports editor Conor McLoughlin attends his first golf tournament ever this week and he has certainly picked the best tournament to visit. He hopes to see his golfing hero Greg Norman who was champion at Turnberry in 1986 and a brilliant 3rd at Royal Birkdale last year. The Shark is playing with American and world number 4 Kenny Perry and European Ryder Cup player Oliver Wilson. Hopefully Conor gets to the course early as the trio tee off at 7.36 a.m.
One thing to remember is to watch out for the "special bets" without Woods in the betting where some great prices are on offer.

Audere Est Faceres nap on the previous page of Sergio Garcia for the open is a very poor choice to say the least.Garcia is going through a terrible time and anyone who knows anything about golf will give him a wide birth. He has only finished in the top 10 once all season and is 118th in the fed-ex cup standings and has just won around half a million this year.Very poor choice of player i must say.
