Friday's Ascot selections....

2.30 - AEGEAN (NAP) - This horse comes from the American stable that has already had 2 big winners but this one is regarded as their best horse so will take some stopping.

3.05 - BLACK BEAR ISLAND
3.45 - ELUSIVE WAVE
4.20 - STONE OF SCONE - Also, watch out for Tony Martin's runner, Salute Him, with Richard Hughes on board.

4.55 - HOLBERY (NB)
5.30 - REDFORD

I think the most tempting price is the 8/1 about Rainbow View. I know she has been poor on her last 2 starts but if the ground was good to soft today she would probably be the 9/4 fav!!
I have went for Elusive Wave because of the quick ground but if there is any softening of the ground I'll be backing Rainbow View too.

Watching the Ascot coverage on the BBC website and there is big money for the O'Brien trained Lilly Langtry in the first. One punter has £80k on at 6/4 and another has £30k on at 11/8.
I still like the American horse though.

santa cruz away to city along with garth barry.

That should put them up to 6th or 7th next season

So much for the worlds top stars they were going to buy

Man City have the money to compete with anyone. They could have bid for Ronaldo no problem but obviously there was no chance if him moving there, but they do have that kind of money. But, the real big named players will not join Man City i.e they were linked with Kaka in January and again, although they could have afforded him there was no way he was going to play for a mid table Premiership side. Bar Robinho they haven't signed any real 'superstars' and the only reason he went there is because he's a mercenary and would join DC as long as they would pay him mega bucks. He has no ambition and is all about the money.
I don't think Man City will finish any higher than 6th this season.

Beverley double.....

2.15 - Rock of Love
3.45 - Snowed Under

Anonymous said...

same as spurs.
they have millions but can only attract average players because they are a mid table minnow team.
when they get a player who makes it big they sell him to a "big team"

scouse pete

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

No they're not the same as Spurs and anyone with any knowledge of football knows that. (probably explains why you didn't know it Raffo!)

They are 100 times richer than Spurs and I would hardly call Robinho and Gareth Barry average players. Who was it the Fat Waiter was busting his nuts to bring to Anfield last season? That so called "average" Gareth Barry!!

Wise up.

Anonymous said...

raffo?

what or who's that mate?

as i said they are a mid table team like spurs.
spurs are paying mega bucks on players so are city and neither will challenge for league.
If garth barry was a world class player man u,chelsea, madrid or barca would have went for him.

thats my opinion, like it or lump it.
im not always right but i am never wrong

So world class players only play for the teams you mentioned?? What does that make Torres, Alonso, Gerard, Reina, Mascherano, Fabregas, Van Persie etc???

Think before you type!!

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

ROCK OF LOVE hacks up in the first at Beverley. Waiting on Snowed Under in the 3.45 for a tasty double!!

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

Salisbury double.....

1.35 - KING OF WANDS
3.50 - FINAL VICTORY

Anonymous said...

Torres was unproven when he went to Liverpool and had not a brilliant scoring record. If his goals per game was that good in Spain, Madrid or Barca would have bought him.
Gerrard is world class but his heart was at Chelsea then done a uturn when he realised his family would go through hell for being a judas.
If any player had a choice of joining barca, man u,madrid or chelsea why would they choose Arsenal or liverpool?
Tevez will join city because he is only after 1 thing and its not success - money!

lets be real

simplicity at its best!

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

I got 5/2 myself. It was available at 3/1 this morning with some bookies but it was well backed into 7/4 fav. Won well enough.

I got 11/4 for FINAL VICTORY but it might start bigger (currently 3/1 in some places) but Ladbrokes are guarenteeing all their early prices now so it doesn't matter what price it is.

Raslan just beat PG

what has happened to padraig?

just reading this about harrington and am shocked.Hope this is not another duval happening.

Harrington's statistics for the year make horrific reading. In Europe he ranks 188th in driving accuracy, 133rd in driving distance and 147th in greens in regulation. In the States it is a similar story - 173rd, 124th and 176th in the same three categories and has missed 5 of the last 6 cuts.

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

Harrington is in the process of changing his swing and overall technique which is probably why he's been off the boil lately. It can take months to get used to a new technique.
It just baffles me why I guy who wins the British and US Open needs to change his game.
