Champion: Punjabi on his way to Champion Hurdle glory but we think he could be beaten today with Solwhit our NAP..
We have the Rabobank Champion Hurdle and recent Aintree winner SOLWHIT (7/2) looks a decent bet in this one, but he will have to beat last year’s winner and Champion Hurdle winner PUNJABI (2/1). SIZING EUROPE turns up after an injury-hit season and it will be interesting to see how he goes at 12/1
The Champion 4YO Hurdle is the feaure race on Saturday and we are taking JUMBO RIO (7/1) to bounce back to winning ways after he flopped at Cheltenham.
Friday Punchestown Selections: 3.45 (Burton Girl) 4.20 (Badgerlaw) 4.55 (Tranquil Sea) 5.30 (Solwhit), 6.05 (Cousin Vinny) danger (Bouggler), 6.40 (Copper Bleu)
RAINBOW VIEW LOOKS THE ONE TO BEAT In 1000 GUINEAS
THE flat season is well and truly upon us and we have the first classics of the season this weekend – hopfeully we kick-start the classic season with a winner or two.
1000 Guineas
We start with the fillies on Sunday and favourite RAINBOW VIEW drifted out on the exchanges to 8/1 on Monday morning after news that all was not well with the horse. But that was refuted by the Gosden yard on Monday afternoon and by end of play on Monday he was back at the head of the market at 11/8.
It’s quite simple folks. If the Rainbow View of last year turns up on Sunday then I expect him to hose up. Unbeaten in four starts as a two-year-old, he rounded off the year when trouncing Fantasia in the Group 1 Meon Valley Stud Fillies Mile at Ascot and, as we all know, the runner-up looked a wee bit special in his seasonal reappearance.
Of the each-way horses the Mick Channon-trained Lahaleeb (14/1) appeals after his seasonal winning appearance in the listed Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury – she looks very progressive as a three-year-old and could be therabouts.
Sean Graham Bet: Rainbow View 11/8, Serious Attitude 5, Cuis Ghaire 12, Lahaleeb 14, Again 20, Ghanaati 20, Shimah 20, Heart Shaped 25, Super Sleuth 33, Nashmiah 40, Oh Goodness Me 40, Aspen Darlin 50, Devotee 50, Maoineach 50, Pursuit Of Glory 66, Beat Seven 100, Damaniyat Girl 100, Pennys Gift 100, Seradim 150, Wadaat 150.
2000 Guineas
And don’t sleep in on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Rip Van Winkle in the 2000 Guineas
It all starts on Saturday with the 2000 Guineas and a what a wide-open contest this looks on paper.
Favourite DELEGATOR is not a certain runner due to ground conditions. If the rain falls then he will take his place in the field and looks the one to beat after his easy Craven win.
We like two in the race and start with our main hope RIP VAN WINKLE from the all-conquering Aidan O’Brien stable. The Galileo colt finished seventh, beaten two lengths, when last seen in the Dewhurst over seven furlongs of the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket in October. This was after winning his first two starts, but word has it that he is in sparkling form and although he suffered a stone bruise on Monday it’s all systems go for Saturday and hopefully Rip will be thereabouts come Saturday.
EVASIVE (10/1) looked a Guineas horse at the back end of last year and the Michael Stoute/Ryan Moore combination is starting to get going and he could run a big race on Saturday at good each-way odds
Sean Graham Bet: Delegator 4, Rip Van Winkle 9/2, Mastercraftsman 5, Evasive 10, Arazan 12, Intense Focus 16, Cityscape 16, Sea The Stars 18, Finjaan 25, Westphalia 25, Lord Shanakill 28, Ashram 33, Ouqba 33, Gan Amhras 40, Himalaya 50, Monitor Closely 66, On Our Way 66, Zafisio 66, Shaweel 66, Pure Poetry 100.

Gerard,
What way do I have to do that bet? Is it a £20 double on both Guineas races??
Gerard,
If it is a £20 Guineas double I'll go for SEA THE STARS in the 2000 and RAINBOW VIEW in the 1000.
Cheers
Bet's on Audere Est Facere(c)
Cheers Gerard!
Great weekend of soccer ahead with the matches in the Championship reaching their conclusion in the final games.
Birmingham for me have blown their chances after losing at home to Preston last week with the Premiership beckoning – they also beat us out of a 20/1 five- hit in the process.
CHAMPIONSHIP FIVE-HIT
They travel on Sunday to Reading, who, after beating Norwich, know a win could propel them to the Premiership –expect a cup final atmosphere at this one.
Sheffield Utd (4/6) are also in with a massive chance of thwarting both teams with a win at Crystal Palace who are managed by former manager Neil Warnock. Expect the Blades to win this one to start off our five-hit.
NORWICH (4/5) look doomed if Barnsley can win or draw at Plymouth. They need to win by at least two goals but we feel that they can collect all points at Charlton.
IPSWICH (4/6) got new manager Roy Keane’s appointment off to the best possible start when winning at Cardiff – exepect the Tractor Boys to follow up with a win at home to Coventry.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST (4/6) are safe after that Monday night Norwich game and can end the season on a high by beating already relegated Southampton.
Making the odds-on five-hit up are BURNLEY (1/2) who need a win to guarantee them a place in the play-offs and they can get it at home to Bristol City.
Punters Guide Quad
On to the weekend quad and we start with our banker bet. We have opted for SUNDERLAND (6/4) to beat Everton in a match that the Black Cats need to win badly.
Everton will have one eye on the cup final and Sunderland can take full advantage of this.
SCUNTHORPE (11/10) know a win or draw on Saturday will assure them of a place in the play-offs at the expense of rivals Tranmere who know a win could mean they take that final spot. But we are banking on the home team in this one.
CARLISLE (1/1) need a win to give themselves a chance of staying up and can get it at home to Millwall who should have one eye on the play-offs.
Making up the quad are ROCHDALE (6/5) who need a win to make the play-offs and can get it at home to Gillingham who have already booked their place in the end of season play-offs.
Punters Guide XXX
A draw would be good enough for Hartlepool to survive in League One and we think a point beckons at Bristol Rovers.
We move into the SPL to finish our weekend XXX off and think bottom team Falkirk will only take a point at home to Motherwell.
St Mirren, soundly beaten by Rangers last week, could struggle against Inverness with the draw looking the likely outcome in this one.

Just got a tip for a horse called ELIZA DOALOT who runs in the 7.30 at Hexham tomorrow night. Expected to win at a decent price I'm told!!!
Cheers for the Solwhit tip. Let's hope the rest come in as well now!
Hope you's were on that tip ELIZA DOALOTT, it just hacked up by 21 lengths at 4/1!!
114 my bet yesturday was meant to pay out but paind out 126 so I think ladbrokes bonus is back. had man city, mk dons, leicester, brentford and the wigan to draw, made getting whitewashed at snooker a lot easier to take.
lucky brew bum

Chester selections.....
1.45 - Archers Road
2.15 - Hidden Brief (NAP)
2.45 - Desert Sea
3.15 - Sohraab
4.00 - Kimberley Downs
4.35 - Harbinger
Chester is one of them courses that you could know the fate of your bet after 2 furlongs!! If your horse is drawn wide and/or misses the break, especially in sprints and/or big fields, then it's curtains!!
Up to a mile anyway you are looking for horses drawn low, again especially in sprints.
It's a unique course but I like it.
1.45 - Mijas Playa
2.15 - Roses for the Lady (NAP)
2.45 - Tilt (E/W)
3.15 - Strike up the Band
4.00 - Jedi
4.35 - Harbinger
