Punters clean up at weekend

I THINK my biggest problem with my soccer predictions is that I am taking too much of a chance with my selections.
Last weekend the big four in the Premiership all won, the big two in the SPL won and the big two in the the Irish league also won – a cracking eight-timer in hindsight.
Sean Graham bookmakers were hit hard at the weekend by local punters who took all the ‘certs’ at the weekend.
ODDS-ON
One North Belfast punter placed a £70 seven-timer bet on all the odds-on shots at the weekend. He took MAN UTD 1/2, CHELSEA 1/2, SPURS 8/15, GLENTORAN 1/3, LINFIELD 4/6, RANGERS 1/2 and LIVERPOOL 3/10.
All odds-on shots, but it all adds up – the punter picked up £1,145.15 for his troubles.
£5 SOCCER BET
A Cliftonville Road punter bettered that with his £5 soccer bet at the weekend.
He took ARSENAL 11/10, LEICESTER 13/8, EVERTON 7/4, LEEDS 4/5, MK DONS 5/4, DARLINGTON 6/5, CELTIC 4/6 and Wolves 4/6 who scored a last minute winner on Sunday. He picked up £1,999.58 – a really cracking fiver bet.
Lucky 15
On to the best bet of the weekend and a well-known Andersonstown punter caused May Day mayhem when he touched with a £1 Lucky 15 bet.
He wisely took early prices and first up was AVON RIVER (4/1) who skated home in the opener at Kempton; ten minutes later our punter was in the money when ANNE’S ROCKET (7/1) lasted home in the 2.10 at Warwick.
STYLE AWARD (5/1) just got home by a head from Our Blessing to give the punter a hell of a sweat in the 2.25 at Windsor.
TARTAN GINGHA (9/2) was not going to let the in-form punter down, winning with a bit in hand in the 3.20 at Beverley.
Our punter picked up a whopping £4,386.25 – what a sensational piece of punting.
A sunshine break beckons for the punter. Wonder if he’d like to take me along with him?

WEEKEND SELECTIO>NS

PUNTERS GUIDE QUAD
1979 holds some great memories for me with Arsenal beating Man Utd 3-2 in the FA Cup final. I was only a nine-year-old but can still remember that final as if it was yesterday.
It was also the year the Pac-Man arcade game was first released, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and Muhammad Ali retired from boxing.
But for many a Cliftonville supporter it was the year of their lives when their beloved team lifted the Irish Cup after an epic battle that saw them beat Portadown 3-2.
It was also the last time the Reds won it. If I’m right Art Garfunkel was No.1 in the charts with Bright Eyes and 30 years on the big question is – can the Reds stay bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to break that 30-year-old hoodoo?
They take on North Belfast neighbours Crusaders in Saturday’s cup final and we are banking on the Reds bringing the trophy back to Solitude.
Sean Graham price the Reds at 8/5 and that folks looks a good bet. The Reds’ success this season has been down to the scoring exploits of striker Chris Scannell and he looks a great bet for the opener at 6/1. If he scores more than one you better hope you’re on with Sean Grahams for double the odds for two and treble the odds if he gets three. You never know.
Three more teams to find for our weekend quad and we head off to the English Premiership for our next selection and BLACKBURN (1/1) can qualm any relegation fears by beating Portsmouth. HULL (6/5) have been sucked into the relegation dog-fight but could pull themselves clear with a win against Stoke. Making the quad up are WIGAN (7/4) who can all but end West Brom’s stint in the Premiership.
PG FIVEHIT
On to the five-hit folks, and LIVERPOOL (8/13) can keep their good run going with a win at West Ham, keeping the pressure on Utd at the top.
NEWCASTLE (1/1) take on Portsmouth at home in a relegation dogfight on Monday night – whatever team loses will surely go down.
DUNFERMLINE (4/6) look a solid choice at home to Clyde while STIRLING (8/13) look another good bet at home to Queens Park. Making the five-hit up are KILMARNOCK (1/1) who should collect all points at home to lowly Falkirk.
PG XXX
On to our draw treble and we start with the game at the Reebok where Bolton host Sunderland – a tight one to call and a point will help both teams. Everton and Spurs looks another tough one to call and fancy the points to be shared in this one St Mirren need points on the board but we fancy MOTHERWELL to grab a point in this one.
Play-Offs
The play-off games get under way tonight and we hopefully have come up with a treble to follow.
In the Championship BURNLEY (3/1) had good cup runs this season and for me they will hard to beat in these cup-style games. LEEDS (2/1) have come good at the right time and will take some stopping.
I have an inkling for Shrewsbury (3/1) to get out of League 2.
It’s 47/1 the treble folks – worth a £1 of anybody’s money, right?

arsenal have started giving free tours of their emirates trophy room.
The tour lasts 5 seconds because the room is empty.Anyone else think they should spend a few quid on players.

ah without a doubt....for the last few years wengers been told he has money an he hasnt spend much i think the last few results has shown him that he really need to buy a few top quality players....

As a lifelong gooner i dont want wenger to go but i think he need to forget about bad buys like jeffers & reyes and focus on the good players hes spend big money on like the arshavin / henrys

although i dont think payin over the odds for gary cahill or upson is the answer...

For me for Arsenal or any other club for that matter to get any where in any league is to invest heavily in all tiers of the game that the respective team is involved in. By which I mean the 1st tem the reserves and especially the youth team and or teams. No need to point out the logic in this or to go in to one about it id be happier seeing money invested in the long term than a stupidly over priced striker whos only one injury away from a commentry job on al jazeera.

Dont think arsenals youth team is the problem the academy is 2nd to none...but how are arsenal supposed to compete with the likes of manyoo who went out and spend nearly 20mil on 2 unknown serbian kids and then sent them on loan straight away....wenger wouldnt even buy xavi alsonso for 12mil last year an fergie is doin that....really think wenger need to loosen the purse strings....if he doesnt i fear another trophyless season....

Dont know why yiz r debating this for cos its perfectly simple. Arsenal just aint good enough. One minute youse r raving about the kids being class,(Almost all bought plus world cup winner also) the next its the mirror opposite. An ordinary Utd team wiped the floor with yiz and if ya cant raise your game for a champion league semi then you may as well forget it. Europa footie the season after nxt max.
