I HAVE to be brutally honest with our readers – our soccer predictions in the last six weeks of the season have been absolutely shocking.
Even though we gave out a 10/1 double in our draw treble last week it doesn’t make up for a woeful six weeks and as the season draws to a close we need to recharge the batteries for next season and hope our luck changes for what’s left of this one.
PG FIVEHIT
On to the weekend action and Man Utd are closing on their eleventh Premership crown – an amazing feat for Alex Ferguson considering there have been only 18 Premiership crowns up for grabs.
As we go to press Man Utd will strutting their stuff at Wigan and a win there could leave them needing just a point on Saturday to clinch the title.
Wayne Rooney for me has been the main inspiration behind Utd’s charge towards the title and is my player of the season just ahead of Steven Gerrard.
Rooney and co take on an Arsenal side who have fallen by the waydside in recent weeks and need to be spend big if they are to challenge next season.
Can Arsenal spoil the championship party?
I’d love to say yes, but it’s this simple – Utd should win at a canter come Saturday and are the first team down at 4/6 in our odds-on weekend five-hit. the the
EVERTON (10/11) may have one eye on the cup final but they still want that fifth place and can take a step closer with a win at home to West Ham.
NEWCASTLE (4/5) have given themselves a big chance of survival following that win over Middlesbrough and can collect another three precious points at home to Fulham.
SPURS can finish the season strongly and should get maximum points at home to bad travellers Man City.
Making the odds-on Fivehit up are CHELSEA (1/2) who should claim three points at home to ‘safe’ Blackburn on Sunday.
PG QUAD
On to the weekend and BOLTON (5/4) could send Hull down if results go against Phil Brown, and after watching them last week against Stoke then you have to side with the home team.
STOKE (5/4) are safe and their good home form can see them collect another three points at the expense of Wigan.
FALKIRK (11/10) can climb off the foot off the table with a win over second-bottom St Mirren who are on a terrible run.
Making the quad up are KILMARNOCK (11/10) who can pull themselves clear with a win over Inverness.
