Great weekend of sports-betting ahead

A NERVE-jangling Sunday is ahead for Old Firm fans as the SPL title goes down to the last day of the season.
It’s been a topsy-turvy last few weeks with both teams giving up the advantage and the ball is firmly in Rangers court this week – but can they hold that advantage?
Celtic host Hearts at Parkhead while Rangers travel to Tannadice to take on Dundee Utd.
The Tangerines have been hard to beat at Tannadice this season and have taken vital points off Celtic and Rangers on their home soil; in fact, they are unbeaten against the Old Firm at home.
One major thing that sticks out here is that Utd need a point to secure a place in Europe.
Rangers are as low as 1/3 for the title while Celtic are as high as 11/4 in places to win it on Sunday. I just think there could be another twist come Sunday and will be backing the Bhoys at 11/4 to do the four in a row.
Punters Guide Quad
On to the final quad off the season – thank God, I hear you say. We start on Saturday with INVERNESS (11/8) who know that if they avoid defeat they will stay in the SPL. We fancy them to grab all points at home to doomed-looking Falkirk.
ST MIRREN (1/1) can also confirm their SPL status with a win over ‘safe’ Hamilton.
FULHAM (1/1) have been a relevation this season and could grab yet another three points by beating Everton at home, the Toffees could well rest a few with the FA Cup final just a week away.
WIGAN (6/5) can end the season on a high by grabbing all points at home to Porstmouth.
Punters Guide XXX
It’s play-off final weekend and all matches are sure to be tight affairs. We have gone for draws in all games and there could be a few pounds to be made if you back all teams to win on penalties.
So the draws are Shrewsbury v Gillingham (Saturday), Millwall v Scunthorpe (Sunday) and Burnley v Sheffield Utd (Monday).
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
On to Wednesday and we have the small matter of the Champions League final with Premier League champions and holders Man Utd pitting their wits against La Liga champions Barcelona.
Last year we told punters to back both teams to win in extra-time and on penalties and it’s the same advice. If I was having a bet, then Man Utd would be the pick because of the Catalans’ depleted defence.
If the best player in the world, Lionel Messi, turns up in Rome on Wednesday night then Man Utd will have a game on their hands.

Horse Racing...

A GREAT few days of racing ahead with Guineas weekend at the Curragh and Temple Stakes day at Haydock.
Temple Stakes
We will start with the Group 2 fivefurlong Betfred.com Temple Stakes sprint at Haydock on Saturday (3.10) and all the talk has been for Amour Propre who hacked up in the Stan james.com Palace House Stakes at the start of the month.
The promising Henry Candy sprinter had the likes of Borderlescott and Dandy Man behind when scooting up and will take some stopping come Saturday. CAPTAIN GERRARD (20/1) could be the each-way value in the race for in-form trainer Bryan Smart.
SG bet:Amour Propre (9/4), Borderlescott (5), Tax Free (6), Equiano (9), Spin Cycle (16), Captain Gerrard (20), Masta Plasta (20), Dandy Man (25), Hogmaneigh (25), Look Busy (25), Total Gallery (25), Rievaulx World (28), Advanced (33), Arganil (33), Judd Street (40), Reverence (50), Wi Dud (66).
IRISH 2000 GUINEAS
English raider Delegator heads the early week betting at 2/1 for the Irish 2000 Guineas on Saturday (3.45) after his second behind Sea the Stars in the English equivalent at the start of the month. But the out-of-form JP Spencer and Brian Meehan yard completely puts me off this one and we like the look of Mastercraftsman (above) who finished behind Delegator in that same race but who loves it at the Curragh, winning all his three races as a two-year-old there.
He will be a fitter horse and with the O’Brien stable starting to hit top form he should be a big player on Saturday.
SG bet:Delegator (2), Mastercraftsman (3), Rayeni (9/2), Recharge (9), Soul City (10), Intense Focus (14), Westphalia (14), Ashram (25), Malibu Bay (25), Monitor Closely (25), Sayif (28), Drumbeat (33), Fergus McIver (33), Hail Caesar (50), Coat Of Arms (200), Viceroy Of India (200), Dukes Art (500).
IRISH 1000 GUINEAS
On to Sunday’s Irish 1000 Guineas (3.40) and David Wachman has the favourite in this one with AGAIN who could run a big race if he has trained on from a two-year old where he won twice at the Curragh.
The Jim Bolger-trained Cuis Ghaire ran a fine second behind Ghananti in the English version and looks the bet for us in this one and the 5/1 price looks a solid bet.
SG bet: Again (4), Cuis Ghaire (5), Super Sleuth (5), Heart Shaped (7) , Lahaleeb (12), Chintz (16), Dance Pass (16), Luminous Eyes (16), Nashmiah (16), Love Bird (20), Always Be True (25), Oh Goodness Me (25), Rare Ransom (25), Aaroness (33), Duaisbhanna (33), Totally Devoted (50), Monivea (66), Excellerator (100), Hallies Comet (100), Cristal Island (150).
TARTAN BEARER will take some stopping in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup (3.05) after an encouraging seasonal debut at Sandown where he short-headed Pipedreamer to take the honours.

Bet of the week
WE start with the golfing punter from Offaly and if my southern connections are right, what a bet this one was.
The punter backed his mate Shane Lowry to win the Irish Open at the weekend and the local bookie laid him 1000/1 for amateur Lowry to cause an upset. He was 500/1 with major bookmakers so the Offaly punter got double the odds and had €300 euros on. His nerves must have been shattered at the end but 22-year-old Lowry held his nerve in the play-off to beat England's Robert Rock.
The punter had just won €300,000 and left the out-of-pocket bookie with more than egg on his face.
Back to the local scene and Sean Grahams were hit for over two grand by a punter who only placed £4.50.
The Andytown customer placed his usual daily 30p Lucky 15 last Wednesday morning.
NEWSDAY (20/1) got the bet off to a flyer winning on the line. 20 minutes later JE NE SAIS PLUS (7/2) made it two from two for our punter when hosing up. DENNIS THE LEGEND (13/8) made it three with a facile win and the sweat was well and truly on.
BARWELL BRIDGE (12/1) wasn’t going to let him down, winning the last race at York by a whisker.
The punter lifted £2,210.31 – what a gem.

Today's NAG:Drifting Gold (2.30 Brighton)

Yeah ok anyone that does a bet this weekend is a fool sure you could say that about any gamble anyone does ever. We all know the bookie wins in the long run but any bet that any punter happens to get up I welcome and fucking congratulate them on. At least the had the stones to put the money on in the first place. A nd what about the people that put £1 on a few random draws just for a bit of interest are they fools too? Well i do that and have taken the bookies for over £500 this season from £2 bets more than I punted over the season so im up on mr ladbroke I know hell get his money back evenetually and i spunked me money on shite but it was better in my hands than in his. Will I tell you who im backing tommorow nah feck off pick your own winners but if i win youll hear about it here like my previous wins

a wee stat for you :

This will be the 10th meeting between FC Barcelona and Manchester United in European competition. United have won three times, Barcelona have won twice and there have been four draws.

The two clubs have previously played each other in a European final, Manchester United emerging 2-1 winners of the 1991 Cup Winners' Cup final.

Barcelona have been eliminated from European competition by the Red Devils on three occasions, but have themselves never knocked United out over one or two legs.

In the wake of the MP's being done for false accounting and false claims it has been revealed that the cleaning staff at Anfield are being done too for claiming for things they never used. They claimed for 'Silvo' silver polish which they never used!
