What about this pratt Ronaldo last night?? The guy should be working in Holywood rather than at Old Trafford. Don't get me wrong, Steven Taylor should have been sent off last night as the rules clearly state that if you raise your arms you're off but Ronaldo made an absolute meal of what was a 'tap' and he should be ashamed of himself. The guy is without doubt the best player in the world but this nonsense just takes the shine of his skill and it's no surprise that many fans and players dislike the guy.

£500 richer lads, but it was squeaky bum time for a while last night but it was easy money.

Of course I would take him at Spurs and I've already said he's the best in the world but his cheating takes the shine off his skill and ability. He went down last night as if a peak Mike Tyson had just landed one on his vhin.
Vidic got accidently elbowed by Martins which resulted in a nasty cut below his eye but you didn't hear a peep out of him!!

Anonymous said...

he's the most kicked and fouled footballer on the planet but i agree he does go down a lot but he also needs more protection from referees

Which trainer will win the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham??

I'm sure 99% of people who are asked this will automatically say 'Willie Mullins'. Well according to Nina Carberry and Philip Fenton it will be Mr B T O'Connell who trains DUNGUIB.
Apparently Nina Carberry (who is not the jockey on this one) thinks the world of this horse and see's it as her banker of the meeting. Philip Fenton (who usually rides the horse) thinks the horse is "very, very good".
Looking at it's form the softer the ground the better for him so any rain at Cheltenham would suit him.

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

Barso

That's exactly why he's the most kicked/fouled player. He goes down if you brush past him so you may as well empty him and make sure of it!!

Anonymous said...

Audere Est Facere(c) i disagree!

i think he is the most kicked footballer because he is the best player on the planet. If you cannot handle a player foul him.Thats what happened to pele and maradonna.

It's part and parcel of the game. That's how teams like Bolton and Blackbrn play against the bigger teams. They know if they try and out play them they will get tanked so they play their own tactics and rough them up.
Sometimes it doesn't work but a lot of the time it does. It's just part of the game.
The majority of defenders cannot defend against Aaron Lennon because of his height, speed and skill (Evra learned that on Sunday) so the other option is to rough him up but 9 times out of 10 it ends up as a Spurs free kick. Lennon knows it's part of the game and he accepts that.

Anonymous said...

Audere Est Facere(c) Lennon is the most inconsistant player i have seen in years, his final ball and finishing are nothing short of a disaster but saying that he is blessed with lightening speed. He produces it maybe 2 out of 10 games where as ronaldo produces it 9 out of 10 games.
If Lennon was more consistant i could see him playing for one of the big teams in England in the future.

Audere Est Facere(c) said...

I wasn't comapring Lennon's ability to Ronaldo's.
Plus, you obviously haven't been watching Lennon for the past few months. His final ball is improving dramatically, he's scoring a few goals and to be honest he ran Man Utd ragged on Sunday!!

Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

Mr Cole was held after swearing at police officers outside a central London nightclub, BBC crime reporter Ben Ando said.

Police said a 28-year-old man was held in Brompton Road, South Kensington, at about 0215 GMT.

He was taken to a police station and given an £80 fixed penalty notice and released at about 0530 GMT on Thursday.

Mr Ando said: "Cole was held after swearing repeatedly at police and refusing to calm down after emerging from Collections Nightclub in South Kensington at around 2am."

Cole's wife Cheryl, singer with pop group Girls Aloud, is currently climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa for Comic Relief.

The prize money for this year's Irish Open has been increased by 450,000 euros to 2.6 million euros.

The tournament will be played at County Louth, Baltray, from 14 to 17 May and will be sponsored by mobile network 3 for the next three years.

"We plan to bring new and innovative ideas to the event whilst respecting the tradition of the tournament." said Robert Finnegan, chief executive of 3.

The Irish Open was staged at Adare Manor for the last two years.

Mr Finnegan added: "The Irish Open is a real sleeping giant and we're looking forward to bringing it back to its rightful place as one of the strongest tournaments in Europe."

Sean Graham regular punters are in for a Cheltenham treat this week as the local layers Sean Grahams prepare to give their punters the chance to win a £100 bet every day.
All punters are asked to do is to right their name on the back off a losing docket and put it in the draw box.
Every day during Cheltenham in every Sean Graham shop at around 3.00pm the draw will be made - the only condition is that you need to be in the shop at that time to claim your prize.
If the winning punter is not present, then another losing slip will be drawn.
We are giving away £500 worth of free Sean Graham bets next week - they will consist of £25 bets - win single only.
We are looking the First Four winners for the opening day - so here we go!

You're a bookies dream Raffo! Betting with the heart on many occassions. Again, I do expect Man Utd to overcome Fulham but Fulham are very tough to beat at home (unlucky last night against Hull) and they will provide a sterner test than Newcastle. In saying that, Im not sure how much Roy Hodgson wants the FA Cup as Fulham are right in the relegation mix at present.
The bookies have Man Utd at 10/11 to tempt punters like yourself. I expect them to win the tie but I wouldn't be lumping on!!

Now one bet I would be lumping on to is Everton at around 8/11 - 4/6 at home to Boro.

Weekend Soccer Selections

It’s FA Cup weekend with three quarter-final games and a fifth round game taking place, so hopefully a few winners to set us up for next week’s Cheltenham festival.
PG FA CUP QUAD
To the surprise of many a Man Utd fan, the PG are tipping Fergie’s worldbeaters to progress at the expense of Fulham, so MAN UTD (4/5) are the first team down in our FA CUP quad at the weekend.
CHELSEA (1/2) look another solid choice away to giant-killing Coventry, while ARSENAL (1/2) should progress to the quarter-final with a win over Burnley.
Making the weekend quad up are EVERTON (8/11) who should get the better of rejuvenated Middlesboro at Goodison Park
PG XXX
On to the weekend draws and we start with the only Premiership game of the weekend at the Stadium of Light where Spurs tackle hosts Sunderland – it’s a very difficult game to call, so difficult that we have opted for the 12/5 draw.
CHARLTON are in dire straits and the best they can hope for is a point at home to WATFORD.
Making the draw treble up is the the visit of Peterboro to Hartlepool – both teams need the points for different reasons and we can’t split them.
PG QUAD
We finish with the PG Quad and we have taken yet another chance with the selections.
We have opted for a WOLVES (13/8) win at Sheffield Wednesday and have gone for LEEDS (5/4) at Bristol Rovers.
READING (5/4) got back to winning form midweek and can follow up away at Plymouth.
Making the Quad up are HUDDERSFIELD (our 11/8) who are our weekend banker as we go for the eight naps in a row.
They take on Millwall who have hit a brick wall in the last week and I expect three points for Lee Clark’s team come Saturday.
The rest, as usual, is up to you.

Punter fury at Bookmakers

Dear PG
Has anybody out there seen the marked decline of bookmakers since the big boys Ladbrokes, Hills and Powers have taken over?
I wrote a letter to the Punters Guide last year about Tote Direct.
I was trying to get the word to punters who do placepots at Irish meetings that you get paid on the fourth horse in bumper races, novice hurdles, novice steeplechases on the placepot as long as there are 16 runners or more at any of the Irish meetings.
How many punters are throwing their dockets away, thinking they are beaten because they don’t know this rule?
Why don’t bookmakers put up a notice in their offices advising the punters of this? In other words, stop hiding the rules.
I have listed a few points below that are not only irritating me, but which are also irritating my fellow punters.
1. How many punters have placed a bet only to be told if their horse wins, “ I’m sorry sir, you were five seconds too late.” Your bet is void. Why don’t they tell you as soon as they’re off that your bet is void?
2. A friend of mine, not a very big punter, would would punt between £50 and £100, got a bit of luck a couple of days in a trot. The third day he got a football bet up for £900 and was told by the bookmaker that his custom was no longer required. Mind-blowing.
3. All of the bookmakers have a first past the post rule, but you have to wait 15 or 20 minutes until it comes up on the settler’s screen before you get paid. Why so long?
4. You can no longer can bet on greyhound placers in Ladbrokes, but you can in England.
5. This is best of the lot. Once upon a time if you did horse match and the two horses fail to finish the course, the bet was void. Not in Paddy Powers today, no, no. If your horse falls at the first jump and the other horse falls at the second, the horse that goes the furthest is the winner. What an absololute joke.
