BMG Printers take on lucky Sparks in PG Final

SEAN GRAHAM PG CUP FINAL 2008

20 teams, 18 weeks, and now folks we are down to the final two for the PG Cup Final 2008.
The Bright Sparks will take on our very own BMG Printers in this weekend’s final but let’s first look back to last week’s semi-finals to see how the teams made it here.
The inky Printers have eased through in every round and have now secured nine winners out a possible 12 selections. They tore Chucker’s Wipeouts apart last week with three good-priced winners. The Printers have been led majestically by Kevin ‘The Charmer’ McCabe who has instilled a winning mentality that has carried his press room companions into the final.
He keeps an unchanged team for the weekend so his big-hitting punters Conor ‘The Torture’ Vernon, Dermy ‘Legs 11’ Ó Tuama, Kieran ‘Steepledowns’ Sloan and statsman Bo ‘Big Bet’ Morrison all remain for the final.
“One thing we aren’t doing is under-estimating our opposition this weekend – we are keeping to our formula that has got us to the final. A winning quad would round it off for us,” Kevin McCabe told the PG.
“We have it all to do,” was the plaintive cry from the Bright Sparks – are the punting duo crying their luck?
It’s luck that has got Eric Savage and Diddler Johnston to the final after last week’s epic semi-final win.
They needed two late winners from Man Utd (1/5) and Histon (1/2) to secure a final spot but the lads will need to change their formula if they are to cause the Printers problems this weekend. The poor Glenhill punters delivered only the one winner at 5/6 as the Sparks’ short-priced winning treble ousted them, but only just.
“Luck has played a big part in us getting to the final and we think it’s time that we stepped up to the plate this weekend to show readers and the Printers we are a betting force to be reckoned with,” Sparks captain Eric told the PG.
“We are not here to make up the numbers at the weekend – we are here to win it,” added Eric.
No matter what happens, the losers are assured of £100 worth of Sean Graham betting vouchers.
BRIGHT SPARKS: Crystal Palace 4/6, Wolves 4/9, Hibs 4/7, Reading 1/2
BMG PUNTERS: Crystal Palace 4/6, Man City 5/4, Swansea 6/4, Southend 1/1.

SPORTS QUOTES OF THE WEEK

"I gave Ronaldo a shirt. It has got his name on the back. I'm disappointed that I seduced only Ronaldo's mum!"
Arsene Wenger on the day Cristiano Ronaldo slipped through his fingers to Old Trafford, despite charming Mrs R at Arsenal's training ground.

"I'm not delusional. I've still got self-belief that I can become world heavyweight champion next year."
Audley Harrison, shortly before losing to cab driver Martin Rogan. Taxi!

It's impossible to win at Barca's stadium. They are devastating. I think it is their year."
Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster writes out his own P45.

And the winner is........

Audley Harrison!

Audley, you are very delusional my son. You would struggle to become a straw weight champion let alone a heavyweight. When we think of heavyweight champs we think of Ali, Tyson, Lewis etc. Harrison isn't fit to lace those boys gloves. The 'dream' is over mate, and it was over before you even fought Rogie.

ROGIES DREAM IS TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD A NEW SKODA OCTAVIA TAXI WHILE HARRISON IS SPENDING HIS MILLIONS LIKE IT OR NOT!

P.S...LIAM...HOW DID MY WAY DE ZOLDAN DO?

My Way de Solzen

GREAT TIPPING YET AGAIN LIAM

nowhere it finished

keep up the good work

Raffo

He can spend his millions but he will not be remembered in years to come as 'Harrison, the Olympic gold medalist'. He'll be known as Harrison the most over rated, under achieving, heartless boxer to ever set foot on a canvas. The worst thing is that he has boxing skills and he's a big fella, a good mixture required to become a champ but he just doesn't use them for whatever reason.

You talk as much shite as Raffo, in fact, I think you's are actually the same people!!!

Cheltenham gets the go ahead today after an inspection but the cross-country course is due a further inspection at 10am. If it fails the cross-country race will be re-scheduled to be the first race on tomorrow's card. Today's meeting also looks like it is going to be put back 35mins.

Good morning to you too Liam.
Rio the drug dealer will be a big miss for the champions but they should be too strong for a very poor Spurs side. This is probably the worst Spurs side i have seen in years altho "Harry the bung" has done well to get them out of the bottom 3

Carl Froch looks set to meet American Jermain Taylor in the first defence of his WBC super-middleweight crown.

I've just noticed that Sheff Wed have nine players out injured!! That's why I hate picking teams before the team news comes through!!

First goalscorer bet this weekend...

AGBONLAHOR 4/1
KUYT 4/1
HESKEY 7/1

Prices with Boylesports

3 x £5 doubles and a £5 treble.

Liam

Anonymous said...

HESKEY...THATS A BIG RISK THERE.
couldnt score in armagh womens jail

dee mcl

Anonymous said...

Yeah, that's why there's about 4 or 5 clubs that want to buy him in January!!
Doesn't score as much as he used to but still dangerous infront of goal.

Liam

Anonymous said...

the 4 or 5 clubs that are after him are not after him for scoring goals. They are after him as a target man, battering ram type player but taking him to score first is crazy. His goal scoring record is absolutely terrible for a striker.

Raffo

Anonymous said...

heskeys goals in the last 3 seasons totals = 15.an average of 5 goals per season poor poor poor poor poor.
would hate to be waiting on him for a few quid. Some defenders score more goals eg - joleon lescott

dee mcl

Anonymous said...

Just as crazy as taking 9/2 about the top 4 all winning this weekend!! ;-)

Liam

Anonymous said...

By the way Raffo, every time you argue with me I always end up right so Heskey is liable to score 2 hat-tricks this week. I'm glad you disagree, i'll definitely not be changing my bet now!!

Liam

Anonymous said...

dont think so liam.

anyone who is hoping for emile heskey to score to win them money is in cloud 9.The big 4 are a far better bet thats why they are 9/2.
I am surprised at you but everyone to themselves.

p.s... is one of the teams interested in heskey D.C by the way

Raffo

Anonymous said...

He would not get on for D.C

IM NOT ARGUEING WITH YOU lIAM.iTS IMPOSSIBLE TO ARGUE WITH YOU MATE.yOU WOULD ARGUE THAT CHRISTMAS IS NOT IN DECEMBER AND THIS IS NOT FRIDAY MATE.

RAFFO

Anonymous said...

You mean it's impossible for you to argue with me because 9 times out of 10 I am right!!

The reason I opted for Heskey is because they are good at home, they're playing a team out of form and low on confidence.

We'll see what happens!

Liam

Cheltenham's Cross-Country race has been given the green light so it's a full card!

I think they may be starting the racing at the original scheduled time of 12.10 too.

For the Cross-Country race I fancy DROMBEAG.

Liam

Anonymous said...

Liam, you are mad to pick heskey to score.
I dont think heskey would even back himself to score first.

end off!1

Willie Bangle

the reason you opted for heskey liam is because you like big black men

Theres only 1 thing i hate more than a racist thats a jewish spurs supporter

Raffo

Anonymous said...

I fancy TOT O'WHISKEY to take the first at Cheltenahm. I also like FAIR ALONG even though he has top weight in the second race and DROMBEAG is the one for me in the X-Country.

Away for the oul Christmas dinner with work. Hopefully I'll be a few quid richer come Monday!!
