DAMN PORTO, waiting on three draws last night, Celtic (draw) 7/2, Bayern Munich (draw) 15/8 and bloody Porto to draw at 11/5 - they scored 2 minutes into added time to win the game - luck's out!
The Celts did well to contain Man Utd while Arsenal just don't look themselves - Real Madrid are starting to struggle and could now face a battle to qualify.
We have got UEFA CUP action this evening and we have went for a XXXX - that's right folks FOUR DRAWS.
We start of with ASTON VILLA to grab a point in PRAGUE where they take on SLAVIA, draw quoted at 11/5 while French outfit NANCY should also take a point away at LECH POZNAN again at 11/5.
SEVILLE travel to Belgium to take on STANDARD LIEGE who are hard to beat home and the 12/5 bet on the draw looks a good bet while Italian side UDINESE should grab a point in MOSCOW against SPARTAK which gets another 11/5 quote.
Personally I will do trebles and a quad - but punters like yankees in this kind of bets.
Hotpot tonight: RACING SANTANDER 6/4 to beat Schalke!

It is official that European football, especially the Champions League, is a minefield for punters and a goldmine for bookies!!
I will not be doing anymore Champions League bets in the group stages but may have a flutter when it gets to the knockout stages as results then seem to be more reliable.
For tonight I fancy....
SPARTAK MOSCOW (DRAW) 9/4
ASTON VILLA 7/5
STANDARD LIEGE (DRAW) 9/4
SPURS 4/9
Them prices are with Boylesports but I'm nearly sure that Spurs were 8/15 with Ladbrokes.
Liam
8/15 with Grahams according to that coupon posted on the homepage of blog
Pricewise
I thought they were 8/15, Boylesports prices always look grim but it's the only website we can access at work.
Either way, I fancy Spurs to win tonight.

Will have to have a closer look at Uefa Cup matches, I usually find them tougher than Champions League.
Also punters beware that to qualify from their groups, winning at home is usually enough to see teams through & the away matches 'bigger' teams may field weakened sides...
Barstool
I've just noticed that Villa are set to rest a lot of their first team so that would put me off betting them right away.
Spurs will definitely field a strong side after the defeat away to Udinese.
HORSE NAP.....
Good race in the first at Haydock where there are 4 or 5 horses in with a great chance but I like the look of OUR JIM at around 5/1. Donald McCain's horses are quiet at the minute but this horse could start the winning again.
Liam
absolutely spot-on, McCain's horses are running awful at the moment - wouldn't touch the yard at the minute!
Gerard
He's had three or four 2nds and a 3rd within the past 3 weeks but his last winner was 11th Oct 08.
OUR JIM has been backed from 13/2 into 11/2 with Boylesports so the money is down although 3 or four other horses have been shortened too. I'll take a chance with Our Jim to get McCain a much needed winner.
Liam
Favourite Rival Bidder will take all the beating
Horse Racing
Zarinava (1.15 Thurles) will take some stopping!
as will Victoria Reel in the 2.50 at Lingfield - Richard Hughes on a few good horses today.
Outside bet at Towcester is Jacarado in the second around 10/1.
4.15 Thurles - REALT DUBH
Been waiting for this horse to come out again & just realising it is out today in the last at Thurles. Was an unlucky short-head 2nd at Kilbeggan a few weeks ago but hopefully Nina can do the business today! Got on at 2/1 earlier. Likely to be much shorter.

I actually think the danger to OUR JIM is Raining Horse. Has won over both 2m 4f and 3m so has speed and will stay, has won on the ground and has a nice weight.
Liam
OUR JIM is now 5/1 from 13/2 and the other have all drifted out half a point again. It's intresting to see money for a horse whose stable is out of form!!
Liam
money talks mate!
Got 6/1 for OUR JIM in Ladbrokes. It is a tough race though.
Liam
does anyone else agree that celtic should not be in the champions league?
what a disgraceful display last night and they were the home team
Rookie
If they win their League they are entitled to be there but I hope their fans, and Rangers fans, will face the facts and realise that both teams would struggle in the English Premiership. I don't think either team would finish in the top 6 if they were in the English League.
Liam
10/1 shot wins the first at Haydock!! Back to the drawing board!!
Liam
Agree with you Liam re the Celtic/rangers thing BUT if to say they had the money available to them that Premiership teams receive (mainly through TV) they are bound to improve.

I'm sure they would improve with the extra money but not so much where they would be a top 6 team season in season out in my opinion. Teams like Newcastle probably have a similar fan base to Celtic and have access to this money for many seasons now yet they continue to struggle to make the top 6. The top 2 in England are well in front of Liverpool and Arsenal and Liverpool and Arsenal are well in front of the other teams outside the top 4. Fair enough, one team might break the top 4 once in a while, i.e. when Everton did and Spurs almost did, but I can't see any team demoting one of the top 4 for consecutive seasons. Celtic and Rangers are big clubs within their League but that League is far inferior to the English version.

Check the above story out. It's about a journalist who was over 16st in weight, ate like a horse and smoked 20 fegs a day. He loved horse racing and always dreamed of being a jockey and today he is due to ride in the last race at Towcester. He went on a diet and trained at Charlie Egerton's stable. I checked Towcester's racecard but he must have been jocked off because I can't see his name. What a story though!! There's hope for us all yet!! I've earmarked the 2011 Epsom Derby as my target for getting getting down to about 8 1/2 stone!!
Liam
celtic do have the money that the likes of villa, everton and co have but will not spend it
agree totally with last post
Liam, the only thing is mate you look like a horse so when they see you they will stick a saddle on you and ride you just like they did when you were in prison home boy
The Hoff
