France (6/5) look bet of weekend

I HAVE said it before and I will say it again – I hate international weekends.
They represent no value whatsoever although they are very difficult to predict. And one last thing – they are bloody hard to watch. I think there are some radiators in the house I need to paint. The only think that could lighten up my weekend is a winning bet.
Punters GUIDE XXX
Let’s stop the moaning and get on with the selections and we start with our draw treble and the visit of PORTUGAL  to SWEDEN in Group 1.
The Swedes are hard to beat at home and have made a solid start to their qualifying campaign, gaining four points in their first two games. Portugal, meanwhile, have made an indifferent start, gaining three points from a possible six, losing 3-2 in their last game at home to Denmark. The DRAW looks the stand-out bet at 11/5.
In Group 2 LATVIA and SWITZERLAND have made indifferent starts; after both got good away results in their opening game they both lost at home next time out.
Two bad teams on show here and a draw looks the likely outcome, again at 11/5.
Making the draw treble up is the visit of reigning World Champions Italy to Bulgaria in what looks an interesting match for all us Ireland supporters. Italy have won both their opening games and another win on Saturday night could put them in pole position very early in the group. The Bulgarians drew their first and only game in Montenegro and know they need something from the weekend game to keep up with the pace in Group 8 and we think a draw at 12/5 is the likely outcome.
Remember those doubles as well as the treble, folks.
Punters GUIDE QUAD
We start with our weekend quad – another three out of four winners last week so fingers crossed.
We start with our weekend banker and we have opted for FRANCE 6/5 who travel to Romania who took a hammering in their last home game to shock group leaders Lithuania and then struggled to beat the Faroe Islands 1-0.
France need a win after already losing in Austria and we think three points beckons for Henry and co.
I hate always predicting against Northern Ireland but SLOVENIA 11/10 look a good home bet to win against Nigel Worthington’s boys.
POLAND 6/4 are hard to beat at home and have started Group 3 well with four points out of a possible six and I think they could upset the Czech Republic.
Making the quad up are CROATIA 7/4 who we hope can bounce back to form in the Ukraine after that thumping by England.
Punters GUIDE DOUBLE
A nice 49/1 double, hopefully – we have taken two in-form teams who have won both their opening games.
They are LITHUANIA 6/1 to win in Serbia and ALBANIA 6/1 to win in Hungary.

changing the subject to the horses and PG old favourite HARCHIBALD returns to flat action at Dundalk tonight and gets a 7/1 early-morning quote. heard a wispper for SHESTHEBISCUIT in the last as well.
On the weekend action a lot of talk for the unluckiest horse of the season YOUNG MICK 6/1 who runs in the Ladbrokes.com Stakes Heritage Handicap (2.20) on Saturday.
He has top weight, loves the track and he has Ryan Moore up top - all he needs is daylight. Danger Dansili Dancer who loves the course with trainer Clive Cox starting to hit form.

Portugal (13/10) look the bet of the weekend. The Swedes are not a great side and I fancy Portugal to win this one quite comfortably.
Scotland (21/20) also look tasty against the other average Scandinavian side. I wouldn't touch France with a barge pole, they are the International "bookies team". Hungary (4/6) should take care of Albania and the Germany - Russia game (13/5) looks a draw all over to me. Italy (Evs) look tasty but I wouldn't touch this other "bookies team" either. I'll go with this quad....

PORTUGAL 13/10
SCOTLAND 21/20
HUNGARY 4/6
GERMANY (DRAW) 13/5

Liam, do you agree with anything bloggers, blog on this blog - mouthful that
- yes, yes I know people are entitled to their opinions, but don't lambast their opinions with such bile.
France/Italy international bookies team (since when) - maybe in the last big tournament both were poor, but if they were a bookies team why on earth do both keep qualifying for all major tournaments?
mind boggling - define a bookies team pal?
to me
a 'bookies team' is when a team gets beat when they are odds-on and then win they are outsiders.
In all games these two play they will start as favourites home and away
Because they probably let you down in a bet before, doesn't qualify them as a 'bookies team'

Exactly, they have let many punters down recently when they have been well fancied.

Have a tennor on my quad Joe!!

Liam

is that an opera singer Liam?

Joe C

Anonymous said...

It could be if you're thick, (I'm not assuming anything), as the version you are thinking of is spelt TENOR!

Liam

Anonymous said...

Is it not pronounced the same way pal?
and more importantly the original spelling of a single opera singer is spelt - you've guessed TENNOR
Google it and checkmate!
and come back to me when you are smart enough not to google it.

have to go for today
fancy one in the 2.30 at Carlisle

he tennor is the highest male voice within the modal register, just above the baritone voice.

Jarmo Sandelin is having a great 2nd round in the Madrid Masters. He's -3 for the day through 9 (+1 for the tournament).

Pablo Larazzabal is still -3 for the tournamnet through 11 and is 6 of the lead.

Liam

Pablo Larazzabal is -11 clubhouse leader after a fantastic third round.

I'll tell you the only reason I didn't back him after tipping him. I was gonna have £10 each-way on Wednesday after work but that afternoon a collection was sent round for a guy who was leaving so I threw £10 in and decided to give the golf bet a miss!!! I'll be well gutted if he get's placed!!

Bloody Latvia let us down in our XXX - still a 11/1 double - picking up something!
France and the Croats whacked the quad!

Joe C

How did them 2 "international bookies" teams (France & Italy) get on at the weekend??

Raffo (The "real" golf fan)

How did your boy finish? The so called "out of form" Pablo Larazzabal finished 3rd. Just goes to show that because he played bad in the previous tournament doesn't always rule him out for the next!!

Liam (the guy who knows nothing about football or golf!!!)

Anonymous said...

are you not a spurs fan liam?(i rest my case)thats how much you know about football

p.s..how much did you have on larazzabal---£0 bet =£0winnings.

i fancied 24 winning teams but did not back them at the weekend as well.
i also fancied 5 horses yesterday , they all won,i was going to back them but didn't.

Today's NAP.....

FUN IN THE SUN (5/1) 2.10 Kempton

I hate backing horses that have Jamie Spencer on board but this horse should be good enough in this race to carry him to victory.

Liam

Punter's Guide said...

The guy would get in trouble in a 2-horse race mate

Anonymous said...

Exactly why I hate backing him. This Fun in the Sun needs to be held up and delivered late and Spencer can be the master at that but he can also, (more often than not), make the wrong decisions at the wrong time and lose the race. The best jockey for hold up tactics has to be Richard Hughes and from the front there is no better than Joe Fanning.

Liam

Anonymous said...

liam,if there was 2 horses running and one only had 3 legs and puntersguide tipped the 4 legged horse you would still disagree

Fun in the Sun now 9/2 from 5's.

I've a £5 double on. Fun in the Sun @ 5/1 and Fortunate Bid @ 12/1 in the 3.00 at Windsor.
Fun in the Sun has opened up at 6/1

Fun in the Sun 2nd @ 7/1. Beaten by a nose FFS!!!

Liam

Liam, fun in the sun was not racing the distance it likes and ground did not suit either. If you read the racing post it said to stay away and would probably get a place but not win.

It's only career win came at Kempton's all weather track so I can't see how the ground didn't suit. It was beaten by a nose so I don't think the distance was a problem either. Don't believe everything in the Post!!

Liam

Anonymous said...

Liam, the distance was obviously a problem if it did not win you tool.

"don't believe everything in the racing post" i hear you say.
Suppose you have your own daily racing paper out called"THE RACING BULLSHIT POST"

Heres a nice bet for you tonight Liam
Derry City ht/ft 15/8
St Pats Ht/ft 11/8
NO DOUBT YOU WILL DISAGREE

Joe C

So if a horse doesn't win it's ALWAYS because it didn't stay the distance?? Plank!!

The Derry match tonight will be a draw h/t and Derry f/t.

Had a look at tomorrow's games and it looks even harder to pick a bet than it was at the weekend. Here's my quad......

ISRAEL Evs
HOLLAND 4/5
SLOVAKIA (draw) 9/4
SERBIA 11/8

Derry and Cork keep drawing (I think 5 times already this season) so I think Liam is spot on, on this one.
I'm still scratching my head on Fun in the Sun - on the 'PF stil'l he looked up - a nose was the official verdict!

Today's NAP is ACT GOLD 7/1 in the 2.30 at Huntingdon.

The double is ANSWER ME 15/8 to get the better of Ollie Magerns full brother Billie!

Liam

For Joe C and anyone else who thought that the ground/distance didn't suit Fun in the Sun

The horses last win came at the very track he was running at yesterday so that rules out the ground. As for the distance, this is what the Sportinglife say about his run yesterday....

towards rear, hard ridden and edging left under pressure, headway over 2f out, stayed on, just denied opened 6/1

Now if anything that sounds to me like a horse that was outpaced and stayed on as the race came to an end so it looks as though the horse wants even further than a mile!!

Liam

Like VICARO in the last with Fehily/Mann flying
11/4 good price and Derry to draw 13/1 the double

Dead on Tommy. No, it's o.k, to be honest I wouldn't watch Cliftonville if they were playing in my back garden. In saying that, I had a family memeber who had 5 spells at the club so I did see them once or twice.

ACT GOLD is now 11/2 from 7/1 in the opener at Huntingdon.

Liam

Liam,it could be worse, you could be watching spurs :-)

tommy

Anonymous said...

Maybe so. But I'm a loyal Spurs fan which means I will watch and support them whether they are 5th in the Prem, bottom of the Prem or in League 2. That's the difference between our fans and most of the plastic glory hunters who support the top 4 teams.
