Just for you Billy Sinclair from the WEE RED

Cliftonville 0-2 Drogheda Utd

Setanta Cup holders Drogheda United finished top of Group One by beating Cliftonville 2-0 at Suffolk Road.

United took the lead on 30 minutes when Shane Barrett's cross was partially cleared by Barry Holland and Eamon Zayed shot in from the edge of the box.

Goal number two came in the 54th minute with Adam Hughes sidefooting in after a cross from Sami Ristila.

Drogheda would have won by a bigger margin but for a string of superb saves by Cliftonville keeper John Connolly.

heard about a Irish League (b) team who where out on a stag do on Friday as one of their players was getting hitched -
local bookmakers got wind of this, and cut the team in question they were playing into 6/5 from 8/5.
The guys with the hangovers lost!

the bookies do know more than us

hint, hint the teams play again this week against each-other and the 6/5 winners are 4/7 on !

There were 2 firs teamers there and
neither were drinking alcohol. The stag do was for a reserve player and all the reserve team were there becuse they played on Wed night and reserves had no game on Saturday.I should know,my brother plays for this team.

Afterthoughts from the Ryder Cup:

Most bizarre sight from a golfer:
Boo riding his driver like a horse and pretending to whip his backside going up the 1st on Sunday.

Best put down: (NB might not be quite so valid now)
Sergio Garcia is practising with his driver on the range.
A US fan shouts, "Hey, Sergio, JB Holmes hits his five wood that far." Garcia counters with: "At least mine is on the fairway."

Best European chant:
A dead heat between: "We play football with our feet. Doo-da, doo-da", "Where's your Tiger Gone?" and, in response to burgeoning Boo-mania: "Boo ate all the pies, Boo ate all the pies..."
