WEEKEND SELECTIONS
A steady start last week with Celtic thwarting our PG Quad – taking a hammering from Rangers in the process.
As readers of the PG know, we hate international weekends, not because of the football, but for the value, which is non-existent.
But we have scanned the weekend coupon and hopefully we have come up with a few winners.
THE PG World Cup Qualifiers Quad
We start with the biggest game of the weekend with Ireland taking on Georgia in Stuggart due to the unrest that haunts Georgia at the moment. The Georgians beat Wales 2-1 last month with a second-string side. They are no slouches and will give Giovanni Trapattoni’s Ireland a scare or two. IRELAND (4/5) look a far stronger team with far more experience and Trapattoni’s men should get off to a vital winning start.
Latvia are terrible travellers and MOLDOVA (6/5) can take full advantage and their campaign off to a winning start.
ISRAEL (11/8) have looked a decent football side in recent years and look a decent punt against Switzerland.
FRANCE (4/5) had a woeful Euro 2008 but we are taking them to bounce back with a win in Austria.
The quad pays £84 for fiver stake
THE PG Quad
Back to the nitty-gritty of domestic soccer and we start with our weekend banker bet. We have opted for LUTON (5/4) to get the better of whipping boys Macclesfield who have conceded 14 and scored 0 in their first 4 games.
Unbeaten SHREWSBURY (5/4) look another solid punt away to Morecambe who have lost both home games this season.
BRENTFORD (11/10) are hard to beat at home, conceding no goals in their first two games and can end the unbeaten run of Dagenham & Redbridge.
Making the quad up this week are in-form BURY (11/8) who should continue their great run at the expense of Chester.
The quad pays a decent £126 for a fiver stake.
THE PG XXX
Just the one draw up last week so hoping for a big improvement this week and first draw down this week on most bets has to be the visit of SCOTLAND to MACEDONIA priced at 11/5 and hopefully that will get us up and running.
DENMARK are a very hard team to beat and should grab a point in HUNGARY – again it gets an 11/5 pricing.
Making our draw treble up this week is visit of Bulgaria to Montenegro – this looks another hard one to call with the draw priced at 9/4.
Remember those doubles and the treble and, as usual, the rest is up to you!

Ireland will face a tough match on Saturday and I think a draw is a better punt

2 out of 3 aint bad!
Jimmy B,its as well you did not back the rest of his tips each week last year.He must tip at least 13-15 things every thursday in his column and if 1 wins a big deal is made out of it.Poor picking ,although he gets a bye ball for the golf pickings,he knows his stuff there.
Three free bets for tomorrow night
Linfield
Glentoran
Crusaders
Micky McDonnell---FORD PLANT
Hate punters like Micky
Define a Free One?
It's like this, there is no such thing as free one
Bookmakers love so-called punters like you Micky!
A list of so-called free ones at the weekend that had the bookmakers smiling
france 8/11 beat 3-1
romania 2/9 beat 3-0
norway 2/5 drew 2-2
and in defence off the punters guide - tipping is a tough, tough game and punters have good weeks and bad weeks - the guy who pens it has did me countless favours in football and racing.
including 2 x 33/1 winners at the GGs and a couple of to notch quads.
One last thing thing? who's better?
Punting Pete
those free ones - when do they play??

If your man Micky thinks the Punters Guide tips are not up to much - then why is he wasting his time logging on to the blog - strange one
JP
That hurt Micky? only kidding everyone is entitled to their opinions and we take Micky's on board.
Hopefully we can improve and our selections tonight are CORK 5/4 (to beat Derry) and BOHEMIANS 1/1 (to beat St Pats)
Good Luck
The rest is up to you!
Just did a £20 treble stuck in Cork, Bohemians and Federer to win 3 sets to 0 at 5/2 - bet of the month!
