It must be spring! Clocks going forward, flowers blooming, birds singing, but more importantly we have the Lincoln, which means the Flat season is back.
ReplyDeleteIt’s widely known to the older punting generation as the first leg of the ‘Spring Double’ which takes in this weekend’s race and the Grand National – pick the two winners and then retirement beckons.
It’s the luck of the draw in the Lincoln and until they race on Saturday we will not know who’s going to benefit from what.
We like Mull of Killough in the race. He was a very consistent performer last year, winning three races out of six, and the 12/1 on offer looks generous odds in this race. So I will bet a single and also back him along with MON MOME (12/1) who looks the one to beat again in this year’s National after finishing like a train in the Gold Cup.
We also have the Dubai World Cup meeting on Saturday evening and what a night it could be for Goldophin.
ALEXANDROS (13/2) looks the bet in the Dubai Duty Free, Musir (7/4) in the UAE Derby and DESERT PARTY (11/4) in the Godolphin Mile look to hold big chances.
The Henry Cecil-trained TWICE OVER (5/1) could well pop up in the Dubai World Cup while SPANISH MOON (6/1) looks the bet in the Dubai Sheema Classic.
