Holders Barcelona lead the CL field at 7/2

Champions League Matchday 2 games were played last week and it’s no real change at the top end of the betting.
Barcelona remain the 7/2 favourites having defeated Russians Dynamo Kiev 2-0 at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night .
Real Madrid won 3-0 over Marseille in what for me was a flattering scoreline and they're 5/1 second favourites.
Chelsea are 11/2 third favourites with Sky Bet to win the Champions League after what can only be described as an unconvincing 1-0 victory over Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus last Wednesday. I can’t believe that Manchester United are bigger at 7/1 to lift the trophy after they came from behind to defeat what looked like a decent Wolfsburg team 2-1 – their big hitman Edin Dzeko looks a striker to watch.
The big drifters are AC Milan who are now as big as 40/1, yes 40/1, after that San Siro shock against FC Zurich, and Liverpool who are as big as 16/1.
Rangers are 250/1 outsiders after their home battering at the hands of Seville who to me look the best of the outside bets at 16/1.
Most impressive performance came from Arsenal who get a general 10/1 quote after leaving it late before claiming a 2-0 success over Olympiakos at the Emirates.
On to the big live game tonight and here’s hoping we can follow up on last week’s correct score success – the 3-1 we predicted paid 10/1.
Aston Villa and Man City lock horns at Villa Park and this looks a very interesting tussle as it’s one of those games that could go either way.
Sean Grahams price Martin O’Neill’s men at 13/8 with big spending City quoted at 8/5 and it’s 2/1 the draw.
We think there will be goals in this one and we like the look of a 2-2 draw at 14/1 and Shaun Wright-Phillips looks a decent punt for first goal at 10/1.
In Thursday’s PG we will be loooking forward to the weekend and the big World Cup qualifiers coming up as well as the weekend racing.

Punter touches with Thursday night cracker
I’M not a big fan of racing at the all-weather tracks – my old Granda used to call them ‘Flapper Meetings’ – but we are stuck throughout the winter with them.
Jimmy Morgan loves them and backs only at the likes of Wolverhampton, Kempton, Southwell and Dundalk. Jimmy tells us the form is easier to read.
Our in-form punter placed a £5 treble on Thursday night at his favourite track, Wolverhampton.
MR RAINBOW (5/1) got the bet off to a great start when easing home in the opener and when JOHN FORBES (7/1) scraped home in the 6.45 Jimmy had £240 riding on his final selection.
He had to wait until the finale and Peper Harow didn’t let him down winning at 8/1 with a fine ride from David Probert giving Jimmy a Friday payday of £2,160.
Can’t think of a better way to start the weekend off.

  23. easy on there gerry. its a free world with freedom of speech.

I think my stats will back up my point.
yes its a good bet,in facty an excellent bet, but he does nap at least 15 bets (football ,horses) every week.
Take that every week and thats some 780 - 800 bets a year he is tipping.
have a tenner on each bet mentioned and you are spending £8000 odd.
you see where i am coming from now gerry so it looks likie you are the clown who is picking his nose.
why not nap 1 bet each week and see how it goes over the 52 weeks.

  28. Mixed bunch of comments there folks but everyone is entitled to their opinion... some do it to get a rise out of others but most bloggers make good points.
Nevertheless folks no matter what way you back the PG Soccer selections you would be well up from August the PG QUAD alone at the weekend would have put you ahead so thanks for the 21 odd emails I received punters who won thousands at the weekend and word from SG is that they were took for 5 figure battering because of it. let the luck continue...

  32. trying to get the paper sales back up folks so the boss has told me not to post weekend selections online til Friday - I was in Munich last week ..
    Raffo read PG selections below?
    PG QUAD
All I can say is, if this PG Quad touches then Halloween and Christmas will be taken care of. To say we are taking a chance this weekend is an understatement. We start with our weekend international knocker and we thinka strong-looking DENMARK (5/4) can beat the Swedes to automatically qualify for next year’s finals. BELGIUM (5/2) can end Turkey’s slim play-off hopes with a home win, while hard-to-beat-at-home CYPRUS (7/2) can also end the Bulgarian play-off hopes with a home win. UKRAINE (13/8) are chasing the runners-up spot in Group 6 and can make Croatia sweat with a win against already qualified England. The quad pays around £475 with a 10% bonus in Sean Grahams with a fiver staked. Tempted?
    PG FIVEHIT
On to our not-so-attractive odds-on fivehit on the weekend qualifiers and it’s simple folks – you will not get rich backing these selections.
FINLAND (8/11) look to hold too much firepower for a young Wales side in Group Four, while BELARUS (1/4) should pick up maximum points at home to Kazakhstan in Group Six. Czech Rep (4/7) need two wins from their last two games to have any chance in Group Three and should see off the Poles in Prague. SERBIA (4/7) lead the way in Group Seven and a win over Romania will put them through to South Africa next year.
Making this skinny looking five-hit up are AUSTRIA (8/11) who should have too much in the tank for Lithuania in Vienna.

Had 20 on the quad and 30 on the fivehit should have combined them but who cares my internet bet statement now reads 2,986.00 portugal here i come
